Cured Reviews

This is one of my favorites so I’m always going to have a soft spot for Cured. I love the look and feel of the place and that it’s not as snobby as it could be.

Today I went back after a very long time and it was ok overall. The quail legs are really tasty and at .50, you can’t beat it. They’re crispy, crunchy and come with a nice honey sauce. Rather than the honey being in the plate I’d like it to come in a cup. Make it feel like a wing you can dip.

The wedge salad is a lot in size so it’s filling. Great size at a great price during happy hour.

Now, the burger. This is what I first had and why I kept coming back. I remember a burger with tons of bacon jam and gooey cheese spilling over the sides. The burger than came today was just too much meat with little jam and cheese (for the quantity of meat). The fries were hot, salty and crispy!

The poutine! Ah the poutine! It’s really a lovely dish. I would have liked more crispy fries but it did have a ton of cheese and meat. The cauliflower just cuts thru all the richness which is perfect. The gravy is full of flavor.

All in all this place is one you should try. Brunch is wonderful and hopefully they bring their watermelon salad back!

I was skeptical when I booked the reservation for Cured, but this was by far the best meal we had in San Antonio! Our waitress was great, and the food was even better. We had the boudin empanadas to start and they were on point. We had the rabbit and duck terrine and smoke duck sausage and they were great. For the main courses we had the Wurst Case Scenario and the venison loin. The venison was cooked perfectly and super tender. The Wurst Cast Scenario was awesome!! The plating was great, and the sausage tasted phenomenal! I highly recommend this place as everything was so good!

Love. Love. Love. WHERE DO WE START?! The moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile. All of the staff was friendly, attentive and clean. We completely enjoyed Cured. We ordered five different drinks and all were a perfect beginning to our meal. We ordered the Cured breakfast (biscuits were out of this world), chicken & donuts (the jalapeno syrup was so delicious, the donut was the best ever and the chicken was perfect! ), heritage hog poutine (again...yum, yum, yum!) and a couple burgers & fries which were amazing on their own. This will be a stop everytime we Remain Over Night in San Antonio!!

What a great dinner experience. From the staff to the food and the interior. I would say the menu is like nothing I have ever seen elsewhere and the plate presentation is exquisite. The chef does a great job presenting the food with rich colors and textures. The staff is on point, so polite and helpful. The location is also great! In the pearl with so many things to do before you sit to eat at Cured. The interior was also beautiful, the aged brick on the walls was a sweet added feature.

First time to this place. Amazing experience from interior to exterior. Outdoor seating area is a must. Everyone in my party had great experience and was satisfied with their orders. Chief was so accommodating to make me a non-meat dish (since I have special meat dietary restrictions) that is not on the menu. The dish was inspired, delicious, and colorful.
The area around this place is awesome and vibrant with many things to do and visit after or before dinner. You will not be disappointed.

I highly recommend ????

This was new for me cured was different the charcuterie was good. It's a mix of southern fancy if that is such a thing. We like to try different foods, so let me get to it the smoked duck was amazing! By far my favorite the chicken liver with the red pepper jelly was also good! Again I am reviewing a restaurant that I am late to get too.. but it's ok! I can't wait to go back and try something different. The drinks were refreshing! The Pearl is a SA icon so I plan on visiting a lot more this summer.

To be honest I'm torn about this place. We went for the second time to this establishment to celebrate Valentine's Day. We were greeted & seated immediately (7pm reservation). We got water quickly & menus. After that things fell off. The server was attentive for a Friday night (2-11-22) but they weren't very busy so that was helpful & nice for us. It took about 30 minutes to get our beverages. We chose their charcuterie plate to start. It was delicious minus the chicken liver mouse. We were surprised to like the smoked duck ham as much as we did. After being at the restaurant for over an hour the server finally took our orders, Heritage hog poutine & the 30 day dry aged New York strip. We ordered another round of drinks shortly later, which again took about 30min to arrive. They only came after I asked the server if their were issues with our drinks & if we needed to order somethinge else. 40min after we ordered our meal the manager came over to apologize for how long our meal was taking. We informed him that we had 9pm reservations at a nearby jazz club & he said he'd go check on the food and get it out ASAP. Less than 5 min later our food was served. My poutine was not something I normally would order but it was delicious! The pork was so tender & the cheese curds, gravy, & fries were excellent compliments. My boyfriend's steak was not as well received. While I know that quality steaks have good marbling to ensure the meat has good flavor & moisture, the $65 strip was about half fat & half meat. The flavor also wasn't anything special. He was very disappointed to say the least. I really want to like this restaurant but this experience has unfortunately soured our opinions. If their had been a wait or they were packed I'd be more understanding but as I mentioned before that was not the case. For the money we spent we hoped for a better experience. Not sure we'll be back after that.

Did anyone say Happy Hour?
Cocktails - $6
Beers - $2.50
And everything but the charcuterie board was under $10
Do not let the prices fool you.
This is a fine dining experience. We need this place in DC!

This was our second time visiting Cured and hopefully not my last.

The food is wonderful. My only disappointment is that they don't offer smaller plates as we went to order everything on the menu to try.

One of the best burgers I've ever had. Very simple burger but had beer cheese and I could be wrong, but, I think they use a different cheese. The burgers tasted very different but equally delicious.

Cured was an amazing experience. From the interior and exterior design, to the customer service and finally the food... Wow, it was the best experience. Not to mention Brian who serviced us the whole night, he was so knowledgeable about every thing as if he was the owner, designer and chef of the place. Definitely ask for him if you visit! The food is made with so much love and the flavors are out of this world, the mixtures of fragrances, herbs, sauces, meats and everything else makes each bite the best experience in food ever! Even the deserts were to die for!
