The food and service, great. I got a cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly, so juicy and delicious. Everything about my experience here was wonderful. The burger had to be one of the BEST in San Antonio, hands down. I'll definitely be back to get another one!!!! Also, the "house fries" are these perfectly seasoned, fried potato slices that pair perfectly with that amazing burger. Love, love, love!!
Josephines offers a unique dining experience. Located in a building from the early 1900s, it sits on the edge of the street. Once you’re inside you will be greeted by a warm and friendly ambience with very open seating. They offer daily specials each day. Our family of five try to variety of dishes including the chop steak, grilled chicken, and pork chops. We done and on the wilted salad which was absolutely amazing, home fries which I highly recommended & onion rings.
The service was very good for the entire visit. The prices are very moderate and reasonable. If you were visiting San Antonio, I would highly recommend having a meal at Josephines

Amazing place! Service was excellent! Our server was Kamryn who displayed awesome customer service and always made sure we were taken care of, Kamryn gives Josephine Street a good name with her demeanor. Food was delicious, flavorful, and served in a timely manner (within 10 minutes). The knife to cut my steak was not sharp enough but I won't take a star away for that because the customer service and food. The parking lot is very close to the restaurant. Very clean and happy atmosphere. The tree in the restaurant gives the place an extra personality. There are a couple of t.v. screens and music played as well. There are tables outside for those who want fresh air. I will definitely go back to this amazing place.

There are dozens of great dinner options in the Pearl area and Josephine's in not one of them. We arrived around 9:30 for a late dinner and the experience was pretty poor from the beginning.
The decor is kind of confusing. Is it a family place or a steak house or a kitschy combo with a giant tree in the dining room and mounted game on the walls.
Service was not great. We waited a really long time for napkins and utensils but our drinks came out in a reasonable time. Mixed bag.
The seating is very crowded. They have packed as many tables as possible in the dining room and that results in being so close to the table next to you that you can't shift off the extremely warped floor boards that make you feel like you're falling off your chair.
The food? Meh. The queso and sausage were pretty good but probably would have been better if I'd been given a fork. ????
My wife ordered a salad, she's a vegetarian, and it was so soggy with dressing that it was inedible. When I mentioned this to our waitress she said oh that's how they make it and charged us seven bucks for it anyway. Not one bite eaten. Not cool.
The steaks? My son got a t-bobe and it was large but just a 4 or 5 of ten on the quality scale. Way too much lemon and not enough butter.
When you're planning your next dinner in the Pearl area throw a dart at a map and go wherever it lands on the map. Unless it hits Josephine's. In that case throw another dart.

Okay guys Josephine St restaurant is in my top 3 for one of my favorites in San Antonio. I've been eating here for over 25yrs and the consistency has always been on point. My favorites are the Pork Chops, Steak with Queso, Rib-Eye, Sausage Queso Platter, Bacon Wrapped Filet and so much more. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The atmosphere is great with an old 1930s store market feel which it actually was at one time. The tree in the middle of the restaurant is an eyecatcher for sure. There is an outside patio for those who enjoy outdoor eating. The servers are very attentive and greet customers with lots of friendly smiles. Super Highly Recommended!!! Love this place!!
Btw, the ranchero sauce is one of the best I've ever tasted. Who would have ever thought...lol

Okay, not much to look at from the outside or for that fact the inside but Wow, the food was fantastic! El Ray burger, cheeseburger, liver and onions and the ribeye (a bit to salty) were very very good. We will be back for sure! Happy hour prices and service were exceptional.

This piece of history has some of the best Onion rings I have had in a long time. We came in for the Chicken Fried Steak that is great. The steak is tender and moist. The breading is pretty thick, but that's the way they do it. Very happy to enjoy it...

Great service. Great prices. Great experience. We found this while looking for places to eat on google, and it didn't disappoint. It is definitely a locals spot, which is what I look for when traveling. Everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. I would go back.

This place is a thousand years old (not really) and a cool place to visit for a bite to eat and a cold beverage. The service was good and the food even better. The green beans are an excellent side and the peach cobbler was a hit at my table for dessert. The steaks were cooked correctly per request.
