The overall experience was good. The food and ambiance was great. However, the service was questionable which left a bad taste even after the delicious food.
It started poorly with the hostess greeting us and immediately showing another family who entered the restaurant at the same time their table. That is fine and appropriate. However, after standing in the foyer waiting for nearly 10 minutes it because aggravating. A waiter greeted us and went to look for the hostess who returned to show us our table.
The seating is cute and comfortable. The perfect balance between casual and up scale. With a wonderful view of some trees and the Tower of America.
The menu is a mix of Middle Eastern and Mexican, so fun and unique. We started with a bread bowel which was a nice collection of sourdough, lemon corn muffin and scone. The breads were served with a peach marmalade and rosemary butter. Both were both unique and delicious.
We ordered a simple coffee and a Paloma (grapefruit juice and tequila). The coffee was fantastic. A Mexican dark roast full of flavor. The Paloma was terrible. The grapefruit juice that was used tasted of concentrate and extremely watered down. We were extremely disappointed.
We ordered the Chile Relleno en Nogado (stuffed poblano pepper) and another egg and tortilla dish with black beans and guacamole.
However, around the time our food should have arrived, our waitress then returned saying there was a mix-up in the kitchen and our orders were never received and had to ask us again what we ordered. She did not bring a menu and I had to request a menu to point out our original orders.
While waiting a second time for our food to arrive, the waitress did bring a 2nd Paloma without being ordered. There was no communication and we assumed this was in apology for the misplaced orders.
When the food arrived it was very enjoyable. Each item was tasty and our plates were clean by the end of the meal. At this point I felt that the service was net neutral and was inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.
However, when the bill arrived there were two orders of Paloma and my coffee had been comped. I pointed out that we never ordered a 2nd Paloma and the corrected bill had a single Paloma, but now the coffee was on the bill.
In my opinion, this seemed a bit shady and detracted from the goodwill I had been feeling for the Paloma.
Overall, I can recommend this restaurant with slight reservations. The food was enjoyable, the ambiance was pleasant, the overall service left something to be desired each step of the way.
We went on a Saturday right at opening time. There was plenty of seating and we were helped quickly and efficiently throughout brunch.
Our party of two ordered espressos with condensed milk and shared the goat cheese appetizer. The crust of the bread tasted slightly burnt to me but I just removed the parts that looked too blackened and it was good. We're petite so we actually got full off just that and didn't even finish it. The picture is after we had already started eating, there were more slices of bread.
Random but I feel like it deserves recognition... their bathrooms are nice and clean with a full length mirror.
We plan on coming again and going straight to ordering entrees!

I found this place a few years ago at the recommendation of a friend. Its our go to place! Most recently our waiter Ben W. was top notch and perfect service!
I love the ambiance. I always feel I have that place to myself. Staff is really down to earth and really "cool". Once I was given a lemon because I wanted one for later with my water. The food is excellent. The bartenders are friendly and assist with food disbursement. Management friendly and on point.
Im a San Antonio Realtor, but I have degrees in History. So I absolutely LOVE the history in this building. It is locked in time. I wanna say you pay for the experience, but ya don't because the prices are very reasonable! Always our date night and you will enjoy it too!

While my restaurant reviews are more likely to call out the chef for dishes that are too highly seasoned, the two items I had here today merit the opposite critique: tasteless. Had the matzo ball soup, which had chopped celery and only a single matzo ball. It had absolutely no taste. So, I began chucking in the lentils from my lentil salad. Amazingly, they also seemed bland—didn’t even have that characteristic lentil taste. Not bad, just nothing. My friend had the stuffed pepper, which looked colorful but which came with absolutely no sides. A bit pricey for a pepper and a little sauce. Pricey, pretentious dishes that are just not that tasty. Service uneven at best. As it was, we found our Liberty Bar brunch so unfulfilling that we stopped by La Madeleine on the way home.

It was our 1st time to visit. Our server, Don, was very nice & was doing all he could to stay attentive to all the tables he had.
Overall, drinks were decent and the food followed the same line. The hummus tray was very good and was enough to share with the table. I had the meats pizza and my wife had pasta with meatballs - both were good but they were not overly complex with flavor.
If we go back, my plan will be to sit at the bar for drinks & apps.
It was a good experience; however, I expected a little more uniqueness in the food.

Great food and service!
We went for our brunch group of 8. There was no reservations online but we were able to call ahead and reserve 1 month in advance! Very accommodating and great wait staff. The food was filling and delicious! I got the Long Island breakfast sandwich and 3 drinks for $50 (tip included) don’t skimp out on the bread, it was delicious with the peach jam! Yum!

Ate at the bar upstairs. Service was ok but the Chile Relleno El Nogada was amazing as was the One Eyed Jack non alcoholic cocktail.

This is my favorite place to chill out at so far in San Antonio. Great menu with chef inspired dishes, exceptional mixologists in the bar, a patio, and very friendly and polite wait staff. I love blowing a sunny afternoon here on the patio!

Great place for brunch, easy parking, clean tables with friendly service. Dishes were seasoned tastefully! ???????? The barbacoa (Huracán del Valle) had lots of good flavor and was not fatty! Absolutely loved the atmosphere and will return!!❤️❤️

The eggs Benedict were amazing. The drinks not so much but the were beautifully appealing and dressed. The indoors was so cute and gave a feeling of comfort. One of my Favorite brunch places now!
