This is an old school San Antonio restaurant/bar. Great place to stop for an ice cold beer, appetizers, or a full meal. Will definitely frequent this spot more often

1st time back in over 16 years and nothing has changed...and that's alright. It's definitely a throwback atmosphere with all the neon beer signs glistening off the shiny, dark wood tables and decor. All the staff is friendly and courteous to everyone. Prices are definitely reasonable and might actually be the same as 16 years ago? I ordered the DINNER sized chicken fried steak that came with a warning from the waitress, and although it was big, it definitely wasn't going home with me. The white cream gravy was just your standard cream gravy and nothing to write home to mom about. What was interesting was the breading. Can't say what makes it different, but it just is. I'm still not sure in a good or bad way...???? What I did like, was that IT WASN'T GREASY AT ALL! Really loved that, and the meatiness of the steak itself. No dried up thin steak shrinking back from the edge of the crust, this was end to end tender, juicy meat! The fries were no biggie either. I will definitely be back to try out more of their varied menu filled with homestyle favorites. My hunt for the elusive yellow gravy continues.....????

Haven't had MK Davis in forever - waited about 40 min for a table ( party of 2 ) - I almost left but glad I waited it out - service was great scooner beers were good and cold and food tasted delish

I really really liked this place! We went on a Saturday evening so we waited about 2 hours for our seat but to me that's always a good sign if that many people are willing to wait. Once we did get in and get our food the staff was very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! I will definitely go back for more! I never even knew this place existed and I've lived here my whole life, so I'm so glad that I tried it. Would definitely recommend! No wonder it's been in business for so long. Two thumbs way up!

Been going here since I was a kid and I will continue to come ???? Because you can't go wrong with the food here ! From the mexican food ???? to Seafood???????????? to Burgers???? and chicken fried steak ????to chicken fried chicken ????

The best thing about MKDavis is that I live a block away. It's great to walk 2 minutes, order to go, and be back home with hot meals. Tonight my client and I splurged...I had cheeseburger with onion rings. Not frozen onion rings, but battered, fried rings. They weren't shy with the amount, as I opened my bag and found a pile of them. Burger was huge and toppings were on the side. Therefore no soggy bun. I barely finished the meal and rolled myself to bed. My client had a fisherman's platter, consisting of every seafood they served. She broke weak and couldn't finish it. We both enjoyed our meals even though we had belly aches from over eating. No pain, no gain, right? If you have never had MK Davis, you're missing out. So do your belly a favor and stop in...better yet, move to the neighborhood like me.

Nice little restaurant with good food, ice cold scooners and great prices. We had the Fisherman's platter, and Hamburger steak and 2 ice cold scooners of beer. This dinner was under $45.00.

I've been coming to MK Davis for years and it'only gotten better and better. It now has a family friendly feel to it which I really enjoy. The staff is always on point and very friendly with big smiles. The food is both Mexican and Comfort Food. It's one of few places where you can get enchiladas and meat loaf on the same day if you wanted. The chicken fried steak is excellent with tasty sides and the appetizer Nachos just the way I like them (Photo). Sometimes when I'm craving a fish plate I'll always consider MK. It's also one of few places that most people I know always agree to meeting up here for a lunch or dinner. The cold beer schooners are just a bonus...lol. Definitely one of my favorites in SA. Consider going soon. Highly highly recommended!!

This is a great bar and restaurant. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. The staff is super friendly and the overall atmosphere is pleasant. The schooners here are a must! Ice cold beer poured straight from the tap, and into a frozen schooner is like a gift from heaven! Lol. My wife is also a huge fan of the their sangria. Various items from the menu are delicious. The bean and cheese nachos and onion rings as appetizers are tasty. The fried chicken and crispy dogs are also great to eat. My favorite plates are the fisherman’s platter and chicken fried steak. I’ll definitely keep on coming back. A San Antonio staple for sure!
