Tried Outlaw kitchen for my wife’s birthday. Reservation for 10. The restaurant is situated in the Altavista neighborhood, which is close to Alamo Heights, Ángeles heights, and downtown area, in a nice and remodeled century old house. The eatery offers a limited, but well executed pre fix menu, but a la carte options are available as well. The menu is seasonal or changes often, but this one in particular had French/Italian classic feel to it. The wine selection is solid, we tried different bottles and nothing disappointed, and prices were accessible. Desserts were made from scratch, creme brûlée was perfect. Overheard a “salty spinach” complaint. We’ll be back.
Finally lined up with the stars to make it in here. Peggy was fantastic, very busy, but very attentive. And when she wasnt able to get to us, Steve and a young lady (hostess?) Had her back. Parking is odd. Street parking and they ask you to try and not park in front of someones home. Most patrons completely ignored the request. Sad.... No handicap parking that i could see... They have a drop off designated space by the front door. Not helpful. Ok, so the food.... Herb crusted rack of lamb. Juicy. Tender. Wish that beautiful herb flavor was infused in the meat, but overall good.... Haystack potatoes still remind me of shoestring potatoes but obviously not from that can lol... They were layered across a bit of ratatouille... Broccoli was broccoli, nothing major... We had the three course meal. Started with fresh handpulled mozzarella. Yum. Mixed greens. Mixed baby tomatoes. Basil and olive tampinode on a crusty bread. We tried to decide what we liked the most on this plate, but couldn't, all beautiful flavors dancing in harmony... Dessert was the strawberry shortcake... This was my moms 100%.. Loved it, save room. Now aside from the oddly placed small table by the window we were sat at, with the door to the front patio slamming shut all night behind my friend and the workroom behind me that had people dropping things time and again, it was interesting... Dress accordingly when its hot outside because its just a little less hot inside, even with the ceiling fan.. With our reservation we requested inside, they wanted to sit us at this diner style bar. Looked very uncomfortable. A party of four sat there and spent the evening twisting sideways to talk, just saying... Inside seating seemed hit and miss (more miss)... Patio seating looked much more intentional and spaced... They had those misters on the patio, i have another friend that will not sit with water spraying her makeup or hair... But well even with better spacing its still outside and that hot air just lingered... Overall, we said we would wait for better weather before trying this again.

Absolutely amazing place. We have an incredible experience every time we go, never disappoints. You get two choices to choose from along with a wine pairing, everything was delicious and everyone was super nice.

The beverage pairing was perfect! Put this restaurant on your list to try! Great for a date night. Choices are limited, so check out the menu before you arrive. The only thing I would recommend....we miss our bread.. a dinner roll would have been great with the 100 layer lasagna.

This is a great place and what San Antonio should be producing with CIA in town. The food was complex and flavorful but hardy with appropriate portions. They have a meat and veg option each week. Great drink pairing. Be sure to get a reservation there a limited number of seats.

Drink pairings were very nice compliment to all dishes. The steak was perfectly seasoned.

WOW! This place is DELICIOUS. I personally enjoyed how the menu is set up, they have two of each option to choose from. I did the asparagus soup (normally not an asparagus fan) and the beef and noodles. It was beyond amazing. The beef fell apart trying to pick it up it was so tender. The soup was great. Salad was great as well the dressing was so tasty. Everyone was completely happy with their dishes, starters, and dessert. I will definitely be back!

We went last week with a group of 10, & then my wife and I went back again yesterday. We love Outlaw Kitchens. The patio, the amazing food with a fixed price menu that changes every week, along with fantastic service - what more can one ask for. Our new fav San Antonio dining location!

Outlaw provides a unique dining experience unlike any other in San Antonio. This duplex is half restaurant half home of the owner. The vegetables are grown fresh in the home's garden. There are chickens in the backyard. Indoor bar seating will allow you to watch the chefs in action and chat with the awesome owner. Outdoor seating is great choice for a date. The food can come in courses or a la carte. The desert is especially delicious. Be sure to make reservations and expect to park on the street!

This restaurant will be our new “go to” restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious and it has a real laid back vibe. We had the best ravioli I have ever eaten We had a stuffed chicken breast as an entree, and it was equally delicious, not dry as chicken breasts often are. We ended our dinner with a delicious peach and vanilla ice cream dessert. We will definitely be back!
