The brisket was so juicy and tasty that I didn't need any barbecue sauce at all.
This place is legitimate. I wouldn't bother going anywhere else in San Antonio if you want good barbecue. I tried a couple of other places on the Riverwalk and they can't even hold a candle to Pinkerton's.
The sides were delicious also. Service was fast and friendly. Great atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night and there was about a 30-minute wait to get in and they also had run out of a few items such as pulled pork. Nonetheless it was totally worth the wait and I would go back there in a heartbeat next time I'm in San Antonio.
Amazing food! A little pricey but worth the experience if you are in town for a few days. The brisket is so tender a knife isn't even needed. The portions are large so I ended up eating WAY too much, so don't let your stomach do the ordering ????.

I've been to this location many times. I love to order their sliced brisket sandwich. It's amazing. The price for that sandwich is $15 dollars but the awesome brisket makes it worth it. Today I added a jalapeño sausage and it did not disappoint. I'd highly recommend this place to any meat lover like myself. ♡

Went here yesterday for lunch and it was soooo good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was amazing and clean and huge. It’s family style and we ordered and take food to the table. Picnic style tables. The food was cooked to perfection. The ribs were fall of the bone type. Seasoning was perfect. Sausage was good too. Mac and cheese delicious. We got bread pudding but gobbled that down before I got a chance to take a pic. It was warm and yummy. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. Must go place.

Great spot in downtown SAT, plenty of parking but unfortunately most of it's pay. The restaurant is in a great spot with plenty of outdoor seating right by a park. The set up is kind of cafeteria style where you walk up and order in a line. If you are with a group or your family it's best to order a bunch of stuff and chow down, they have sandwiches and stuff as well and you can obviously get just enough for yourself. The food was amazing, loved the smoked turkey, the sausage was a 10. The brisket and Mac and cheese were off the charts as well. Basically not a bad thing on the menu according to my taste buds. If you're in San Antonio and want some good Q definitely check them out.

Not gonna lie, went here expecting an OK BBQ in the middle of downtown. What I was not expecting was to come out this place as happy and satisfied as I have ever been with any BBQ place In Texas. Not an expert, but the brisket was cooked to perfection meat to fat ratio was 100% on point and on top of that it was so tender that you had to handle it like your mothers China plates. Parking was $1.50 on the street for those of you worried about that, anyways awesome experience thank you worth the price at every level. Full bar was nice too????

Killer brisket sandwich. The employees are cool and chill as hell. Full bar around the counter from where you order your food. It's served family style. Drinks were also delicious and finely crafted. Lovely outside seating with a musician playing

We chose Pinkerton's out of a long set of choices of BBQ restaurants. We're glad we did. You order cafeteria style - first cold sides, then hot sides and lastly the meats. Oh the meat station has great choices and is intoxicating to watch them unpack fresh out of smoker ribs and brisket. Staff was all helpful. You find a space in the large dining room at a picnic table. A good way to meet new people. The food was the star of the experience. Brisket and ribs - can't get better. Smoked sausage was good. Texas baked beans were delicious. Bacon Mac was delightful. Definitely a restaurant you should visit. Often.

They know how to do BBQ here. I've ate at so many BBQ places, including some rated top 5 in Texas. Sausage, delicious. Brisket, very juicy and tender, even the flat. Sides are delicious, especially the beans. Turkey was a little dry, but almost all turkey usually is. I'm not a fan of the original sauce as I prefer Franklin style vinegar sauce. I'll definitely be back if I'm in town again.

We had an incredible experience dining at Pinkerton’s BBQ. The atmosphere was amazing, as well as the quality of food. We had a little bit of everything but if I had to pick my favorite….it was the smoked bread pudding. The meat was perfectly smoked and after they granted me a tour, I could see why. They have the most impressive equipment that cranks out incredible tasting food, at amazing quantities. If you live near or just visiting, it’s definitely a place high on my list of must eats.
