Just going to keep it plain and simple. I waited a while for my food and I would definitely give it more stars if it was worth the wait but the food was about average soggy fries when the plate came to my table and sandwich was ok. but other than that I love the atmosphere just wish the service was faster and food was better.
Google needs 1/2 stars! My true review would be a 3 1/2. 4 stars is a bit high.
Definitely a place I would recommend going at least once. Cool place, very nostalgic. Always good to visit historic places.
Food was just okay, priced right though.

One of our favorite family restaurants. Not sure why it’s never crowded because it’s by far the best diner in town. We always order a shake. The fried chicken is worth the wait. Love the brown gravy and mash potatoes. They actually have malt vinegar for the fish and chips. The staff is super friendly. We also love the cakes. My daughter loves playing music from the juke box. We always end up here when the Pearl restaurants too long a wait and we are never disappointed.

Atmosphere and history behind restaurant is definitely what this place is all about. Wanted to try the milkshake or banana split but was filled after pork sandwich.

What a landmark! They have been doing business for 100 years. 1-0-0! Listen don't go there for she-she foods... Go there to be a part of history. I had the chicken fried steak burger. It might be a frozen patty, I could be wrong, but that didn't stop it from being good. The onion rings are delish, try dipping them in ranch or their thicker than paste old fashion gravy YUM. My friend had the Pigstand BBQ sandwich. Holy pig batman. Im ordering that next time. I think the common sense thing to do here is order anything Crystal suggests. She recommend my friends choice, I went renegade. Great service. Nice to see a smile. Order that creamy shake. Nothing fancy, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry. Only regret? We didn't see the cakes until we were leaving.

I just loved this place! Took me back to times gone by and dearly missed. In 2021 they celebrated 100 years! The service and food explains why this is! The staff was very friendly and the food was fast, hot and fresh; traditional diner experience. If you are in town and looking for good ol' diner food and affordable prices this is a must stop!!!

The hostess was nice and the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. The floors were sticky, which should have been the sign to leave, but I figured I would give it a try.
$20 later I am filled with regret. The fries and onion rings were undercooked. The corn had that fresh-out-of-can taste. The chicken fried steak was an unseasoned chew toy. The burger reminded me of school cafeteria lunches from back in the 80s. Fun fact: THOSE WERE NOT GOOD EITHER!!! What a wasted of time and money.

1st Time here but I new this place existed, so these people need more workers, service takes for ever and them bringing your order takes even longer. The young Server is realy fast and good, but poor girl not to be the Server for all the tables????The Food was passable. Prices Reasonable but I will not come back.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is to die for I do believe that there is no other restaurant in San Antonio like this one that can I match this energy. The porcelain pigs really add to the atmosphere it that made my dry, yet delicious meal truly enjoyable. I sit here with my family and I do consider not coming back however I do believe that by chance one day I will be back here in this faux leather seat. I can’t wait to try the desserts for the fries were pretty good and the coleslaw was all right. I enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger while my family enjoyed the pig sandwich, my burger was quite dry but they did seem to enjoy their sandwich. Again the atmosphere really adds to how wonderful this place truly is.
