Must try the fish and jumbo shrimp with the cornbread batter. Simple but very delicious with some tarter sauce, ketchup, lemon and Tabasco. The shrimp are battered very nicely which makes for a nice crisp with tons of flavor. Service is always great. Support local and enjoy a San Antonio stable for good fish fry.

Bland, tasteless chicken fried steak with two small red boiled potatoes thrown on your plate. Not impressed at all. They also run a game on their customers by turning in an order to the kitchen for the higher priced plate that you didn't order. And when the "manager" comes she tells you that you have to take them because they were already made. Blah blah blah. All I can say is don't waste your money. Lucky for them I was being treated out or I would have walked out. ????????????

Mom had the Senior Cod plate. It was a triangle piece of fish, not great...fries were cold...the dinner roll was great/fresh. The ranch dressing was very tasty. The best part of it was the chili con carne.. I loved the sweet tea! Staff was friendly.

Me and my sister were greeted upon entry.
Our server was very cheerful and attentive.
I love the new decor.
I ordered the chicken fried steak, extra crispy. The wait time for our food was very reasonable and every morsel was delicious!
We will definitely be back!! Thank you for a great dining experience!!!

My Pops SWORE by this place as being "the best seafood on the south-side".

Well we finally went and, after realizing they had changed locations, feelings changed.

We both ordered shrimp baskets with onion rings, difference being mine had oysters and his had fish. It seemed as if each type of seafood had it's own breading, which wasn't a bad thing but just an observation. The onions rings, however, had the worst breading of all and would slide off the onion very easily.

It wasn't bad, it was decent grub and the 'neighborhood eatery' feel of it helped it greatly. Nonetheless the staff were friendly and efficient.

I had heard of the legend, the chicken fried steak to end all chicken fried steaks. And I heard that it was at Sherry's Texan Seafood. I was not misled.

Like any chicken fried steak connoisseur, I asked for the cream gravy to be on the side because otherwise it's a slight against the gods of chicken fried steak. That statement may offend some people but in order to truly enjoy a crispy fried humongous chunk of beef, you really need to have the gravy in a separate container, this is a rule I adhere to and will continue to observe until the day I die.

They hooked it up. Cream gravy on the side and the steak fried to perfection. This is probably the best chicken fried steak I've had in a long time. And I'm always looking for new challengers to the throne. At this moment, I don't see any challengers to dethrone Sherry's. Even the sides were fantastic.

This restaurant is out of the way for me but I will definitely be coming back. It's that good.

I Compared the Toast to the table next to us, unfortunately ours was burnt and not Texas Toast size, I should have returned but did not want to be that person. One of my sides were 2 tiny red potatoes, served plain, boiled, and cold. Do not order red potatoes unless you like them the way I described and received I returned them for mashed potatoes. I wish my waitress would have informed me that they are plain. The steak was ok, a little overcooked, not medium as requested but we ate it anyway. The jumbo shrimp and Onion rings were awesome!!! The fish was good, they had a cornmeal breading option or flour option. I went with the cornmeal option which was nice and light. Still on the fence if I would go back, it was my first time there and I really wanted to like this local place.

I've heard a lot about this place and to be honest I wasn't very impressed. The salad for starters is completely boring. It's literally just lettuce with a copy strings of purple cabbage. I expected just a little more from a business that seems a bit infamous in San Antonio.. maybe a little carrots or tomatoes. My mother in law comes her often for the chicken fried steaks she really enjoys it however I had to try the seafood as they claim to have the best seafood in town. It was alright. The fish was nice and crispy but there was stuff in it that seemed like scales. I'm not exactly to sure if that's what it was that I was having to spit out but that was the texture it felt like in my mouth. My baked potato was hard and slightly cool which was a bit off putting. The onion rings were great though. I really enjoyed the onion rings but it was disappointing that it took half way through my meal for the waitress to finally return to the table to see how we were so I could finally request ketchup. (And they were far from being under staffed.) I had only been here one other time before back when they were at the old location. That time I got the club sandwich which was good but you really can't screw up a sandwich. I don't think I will be returning here.
