Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of quick Italian food. But Sohill Cafe reminds us how Italian food is suppose to taste in a laid back atmosphere. The staff was amazing. And having this half chicken on top of gnocchi with mushroom marsala sauce was to die for. The spaghetti and meatballs were awesome. Thank you for having us.
My girlfriend and I were just looking for a new pizza place when we came across Sohill Cafe, and we were pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere in a casual setting, great service and most importantly, GREAT FOOD!
Do yourself a favor and hit this spot for a great casual date night!

Got seated and menu were handed and A ROACH APPEARED ON OUR TABLE AND TABLE next to us. All they said was they were sorry and that they had just sprayed the place. Even with this issue no discount, no compensation for the inconvenience.
NEVER GOING BACK!!!!

John F. has a winner here. I love this restaurant. I have never been disappointed in the food, wine or service. I have eaten here many times for lunch and dinner. Last night I went with two friends. For our appetizer we shared the grilled shrimp and warm goat cheese salad. Perfect amount and it was delicious. Next we had a couple of pizzas, the perfect juxtaposition of Italian and fig pizzas. Pizza left over went home to a boyfriend. Happiness. Go. Eat. Enjoy.

AMAZING! This place is a gem. I’m glad someone told me it existed. From the outside it’s pretty nondescript, but inside is quite unique and cozy. The food was great. The Caesar was super green, yay and the pesto mushroom fettuccini was fantastic. I don’t event like mushrooms, but I was feeling adventurous and tried the dish. The chicken was so moist. I don’t even really like chicken! The pasta is made from scratch too. The spicy truffle fries and the pizza was delicious as well. Their menu isn’t super extensive, but it doesn’t have to be when your specialties are so well done. I have anything bad to say, I loved my experience!

This is the wonderful small business type of restaurant that I love. Smartly renovated space with a great menu with lunch specials, happy hour, mid week specials and more. But most importantly great food prepared with care. So delicious!

We went to SoHill Cafe for the first time last Friday night and I would definitely go back again. I ordered the Meat Lovers pizza which was delicious. Even though it had a lot of meat on it, it wasn’t very greasy and the crust was perfect. My wife ordered the gluten free alfredo pasta. I had a bite of that as well and it was very good. I also appreciated that they have several local craft beers on tap. The service was great and I just really liked the atmosphere in the restaurant. It was very relaxed and the art on the walls was a nice touch. Give them a try if you’re looking for excellent pizza and pasta in SA.

UPDATE: Fyi Parking is small if you go during lunch time be prepared to park away from establishment. If you go during the evening for dinner Parking shouldn't be an issue due to the other stores next door being closed. If turnaround time is quick you should find parking if not you can park in other designated parking spaces from the stores that are closed. If not you'll have to park across the street or at the end of corner.
If you're looking for Authentic GREAT Food made from scratch this is the place to go. This Bistro is on Blanco Rd in the Beacon Hill District. The food taste like Nothing I've ever had before the Spices, Zest and Herbs in the Pasta is Magnifico!!! The Pizza bread is Made Fresh upon your order and cooked in an Original Brick Oven. It's a Fabulous place to either Dine in for 2 or for a Trio, having a Party of more than 4 is stretching it. RESERVATIONS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED not needed but if you don't mind waiting up to 1.0 or 1.5 hrs and another hour for your meal feel free to be a Walk-in but be prepared to wait. EVERYTHING is Made on the spot which is why the wait is long but TOTALLY worth it.
They have a variety of foods on the Menu, from Salads, to burgers, Pizza and Pastas. Along with a variety of Beverages and a small Bar area to have a couple of drinks before your meal.
I saw this location on the Local News and let's just say I don't foresee this location being a permanent location. I do however see Jean-Francois, the Owner, will have to be leasing space in a larger establishment because this Bistro WILL be getting VERY busy, more than it currently is and with GREAT reason. Jean-Francois was very Polite, Friendly and Welcoming he REALLY makes you fell at home, the waitress was also VERY attentive. If you're ever in San Antonio look for this cozy spot and you'll be sure to become a Regular. If you'd like to take a Date for Valentine's day best get those Reservations in ASAP because it WILL be packed. Lastly their prices are Perfecto, and your Serving size might give you leftovers... which in my opinion IS AWESOME because YOU WILL be CRAVING it Again!!! I can't wait to go back and Enjoy a Tasty Meal.
