I thoroughly enjoy this place. From great outdoor seating, to the indoor seating inside a mansion, to the on-site shop and museum. Excellent place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Come early or expect a long wait on the weekends or Mother's Day. I have been coming for years and will continue to return.

Such a cool place! Lovely historic home and venue on the San Antonio river. Excellent for breakfast - food was delicious. OMG! The biscuits were huge! If you’re staying downtown, it’s about a mile walk via the river or a quick ride share to get there. We rode there and walked the river back - lovely, quiet walk in the mornings. Go when they open or you will be waiting a while - indoor and outdoor seating. Totally worth the wait, though!

The plates are pretty. The location is nice and the food is good. For me, I’ve come over over the years and not much has changed.

There’s almost always a wait bit there’s lots to look at or you can walk around. We sat outside and it was comfortable despite the heat.

The club sandwich was good. Could have used more mayo but the turkey was fresh and the bacon crispy.

The biscuits look insanely heavy and dense but they’re the exact opposite. They’re so light and fluffy.

The chicken and waffle was nice. Chicken batter does taste like it’s flavored and the waffle had a good texture.

The service this time around was blah. It was whatever. Maybe he thought we wouldn’t leave a good tip or maybe he was tired but we seemed to be the table he was least interested in. Also the “long” pour in a large OJ needs to be reassessed. A good three fingers at the top was empty. ????

I honestly don’t think I’d go back because there wasn’t enough to bring me back. It’s definitely a cute place to visit at least once.

The place is really a blast from the past. Nice outdoor seating area. Inside the AC is amazing. The food was good, but not worth the cost. It was just a basic breakfast that you can get in other places. The biscuits are almost like slices of cake. The gravy was good. Upstairs there was a shop and a small museum. Really interesting way to restore a house and repurpose it.

I attempted to eat breakfast here five years ago at 9am on the weekend, and I was told it would be a two and half hour wait, so I've avoided returning for too long. If you can manage to visit around 8am on a weekday then there's zero wait. There's both inside and outside seating. The tables were reasonably set apart from each other. It gets really loud with everyone's conversations inside because each room is fairly small. The menu is tiny for breakfast, but the food is amazing. Everything came out perfectly cooked. Our waiter was attentive and kind. I regret waiting so long to finally eat here.

The service was wonderful. The food was tasty. I had the tacos with scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese. They were quite nice but I would say, if you order them I think they heated with a flamethrower. Lol Open them up immediately when you get them and let them cool off. It took like 5 minutes. My friend ordered biscuits and gravy she said while it was good It also mostly tasted like a white sauce rather than sausage.

Now for the reason that you go the ambience. It truly is lovely but you must go upstairs to use the restrooms and check out the cute store with kitchen items and the tiny museum. Overall a nice experience.

Good food and customer service. Guenther House is my usual birthday breakfast brunch spot. It always delivers. The patio gives it a nice touch and adds to the great atmosphere. Overall a nice breakfast place to go to. Seems hidden, but we’ll worth the search!

The wait time always seems to be long but the grounds are beautiful and free coffee is offered while you wait. There is cornhole to play as well and the restaurant will text you when you’re table is ready so you can leave and come back.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The temperature inside is quite cold. Several patrons left to go grab sweaters from their cars. I just ate fast because it was a little uncomfortable for me.
The food was good. It’s not great but it is good and reasonably priced. I believe diners come here for the ambiance more than the food. The grounds are gorgeous and there is a charming gift shop to browse while you wait.

The wait was very long-like an hour and a half and the hostess ditched halfway through so we were getting a little impatient. But it was worth the wait. The breakfast quiche was the best quiche I’ve had and very unique. The house is gorgeous and was a great pick-come to find out it’s a favorite local spot. I love how they have their recipes on their website too-I can’t wait to try them out! Must go if you’re in San Antonio.

This place is amazing! It has absolutely gorgeous outdoor seating & the food is wonderful. We had the breakfast tacos & pancakes - both of which were delicious! They even gave us real maple syrup which seems hard to come by in these times of maple flavored corn syrup! We also called in this morning to ask if they had cinnamon rolls & they did! It turned out to be like as big as my head (which is pretty big - my head that is) AND it actually tasted really good & was cooked through properly!! I’d definitely recommend this place!
