Panchito’s has been a San Antonio staple for generations. On this visit, I was disappointed to hear that they would charge for chips and salsa. That a Tex-Mex restaurant would charge for chips and salsa is sacrilege!! That’s how the visit started and kinda set the tone for me for the rest of the meal, not to mention that they played nonstop Christmas Standards by Mariah Carey; literally 10 songs in a row. The food was okay, came out really fast, which kinda made me believe that it wasn’t made to order. The taste itself was alright. Nothing deserving a rave review just kind of standard flavor. I can say that there are other Tex-Mex restaurants that are better. I get that we are living in challenging times and costs are going up on everything, but that doesn’t mean that the passion should be taken out of making great food. The best part about our visit was our waiter, whose name I failed to catch. He was funny and attentive and really down to earth. In summary, Panchito’s is not what it used to be when I went there with my grandparents or for family dinners some 15+ years ago.
Hadn't been here in years. Never had a empanada(picadillo) till today omg it was delicious. The portions here were huge. Mole enchiladas I had meh. But still good.

We waited an hour and a half for a table, there is a sign in the Lobby that says enjoy a drink while waiting. However there is no bartender available so no drinks available till seated. When we were getting seated Billy the manager said this is the best we have when I said this is not enough room to seat 8 people. I asked for the table next to us he said no that one is for 14 people. It's fathers day I understand If you are short handed but take care of the people that come in to your business. Hire more help!! I do not recommend this restaurant for holidays with your family. Extremely disappointed ????

When I think good Mexican food this is my go to. Been coming here for years. The food is always good here. The service is also just as good. The flour tortillas are top shelf. Good drink specials too. Definitely highly recommended. The sizzling chicken or chicken fajita dinner are my go to’s!

Hardly any wait on a Sunday early afternoon. Staffed well. Comfy booths, the large is big enough for 4 adults comfortably. Food was hot and fresh. Pancakes were a little plain flavor wise but fluffy and warm none the less. The chips, crispy taco shells are warm, crunchy and fresh. Flour tortillas hot and fluffy not too thick or thin, just right. The strawberry smoothie was super good! Overall great! I'll be coming again.

Just happened to drive by this place and said lets try it out. We loved it. The service was great , the food was very good. We were shocked that we have never heard of this place. Like for real. I had some super stuffed deluxe Tacos that had a combination of items that mixed well together. I also enjoyed the chips and chorizo bean dip. They have some good cinnamon coffee. A must try. The restaurant is very nice inside and can't wait to go back for some dinner and drinks

Great, Home-Style food, excellent table service, all the staff was nice and friendly. The options are great, so if you come here having skipped a meal throughout the day, you'll leave satisfied. I ordered the Chile relleno, which was fantastic, sand my dining companion had a giant burrito that he was barely able to finish. Dish prices are good relative to the portion size. Will be back when in the area!

The food that we ordered was very good. The food was hot and ready to eat. Our waiter seemed to have little patience for a response and would take off while we were talking. He seemed busy though. Other then that it was a great experience, it's a good restaurant to eat authentic Mexican food!

I went for dinner. We were served by a wonderful waitress named Maria F. Very friendly and informative of the menu.
The food was great. We had the Fajitas for Two with a house margarita.
Mike, the manager, is a tremendous asset to Panchitos. He, too, deserves to be recognized. His attention to detail and his loyalty to the company is second to none. As a patron to the Panchitos in the heart of the West side of town, I've seen him recover the company from chaos. I've seen managers come and go at the West side location ( I've only been going for 25 years) and Mike has leadership skills that shouldn't go unnoticed or compensated better than average. Any other big name restaurant would love to have a leader like Mike, in their team.
