Great meal in a well-decorated, intimate space.

The tacos combo is a good value considering the high quality of the food. The pastor and BBQ chicken tacos were delicious standouts. Solid homemade tortillas. Maybe the best mimosa I've ever tasted?

Can't wait to go back and try the 3-course dinner menu with wine pairings.

Went for houston restaurant weeks. The food was great as usual. The tacos here are the star, but the steak was outstanding, not to mention the fried cheese and eggs were a unique and delicious surprise.

Came here for a tasting collective event. Omg the best barbacoa I've ever had and the homemade corn tortillas put it over the top!

Great if a bit eccentric Mexican place in West University. They've got outdoor seating (with fans!) and that is a selling point for us.

Now, they've got a good menu with some delicious vegetarian options (Mushroom Power Taco, Austin, Cauliflower al Pastor, Guacamole Perfecto - they're the ones I've had so far) and I look forward to seeing what else they've got and put together.

Anyway, highly recommended. Go eat there and enjoy.

Great food! Easy quiet vibe. Was a random find and so happy to have found it. This place is across from a school so no Margaritas on the menu as no full liquor license... but otherwise it's a top choice for delicious Mexican food.

Great place for Mexican food. Lovely ambiance and decor but more importantly friendly staff. We ordered the tacos de pastor, chilaquiles and milk bread french toast which was all so good especially the flavors which were on point. We will be going there again for sure.

The barbacoa taco changed my life...Honestly teared up. Everything about this place is great from the chefs to the marketing to the atmosphere, but most importantly the food. I had El Topo catered for an event and they were amazing with the setup, their personalities and punctuality!

Had Friday morning brunch here. It was delicious, ambience is so homie and warm, service was good and overall two thumbs up.

Also this was for a work meeting and it was a great setting for that!

I read about El Topo in a highlight in Texas Monthly, so I decided I had to check them out. They did not disappoint, if anything they exceeded my expectations. We went for brunch and had a wonderful experience. From the decor of the small space, to the flatware, and all the little touches just made it very inviting and comfortable. We started with agua fresca mimosas, pineapple and lime. So incredibly fresh and flavorful, we could have drank them all day. My girlfriend got the masa pancakes and it came with peaches and molasses. My mouth is salivating writing this, they were delicious! I got the barbacoa Benedict with crispy potatoes. The meat was really nice, I think I would have substituted the traditional English muffin for the masa pancake because I'm obsessed with them, but it was still really nice. I also got an Al Pastor taco and let me tell you it was the most perfectly constructed Al pastor I've ever had. If you like pineapple in your pastor taco, this is it. The end all be all, best Al Pastor taco I've ever had. And I order it in every town and every taqueria I go to. The menu has tons of options plus unique brunch items on the weekend. Do yourself a favor and go see them!

Great little place! Got 2 tacos and street corn. 44 farms taco on the left and El pastor taco on the right. Both were amazing. Way better than I expected.

Such a cute little neighborhood cantina. I came because of the item thats on the truffle masters list - chicken truffle butter donut. It was really good and the glaze was nice but I didn’t get a ton of truffle. The rest of the food was amazing. I loved everything we tried- a few tacos, the ham sandwich, cantina burger, and papas wrapped in fried cheese. I definitely want to go back because all the food was so good. I think I loved the cantina burger the best because of how saucy and juicy it was. I want to go back and try some other things!
