Immediately loses a star for not having WiFi. It's 2022, not 2002.
Went for dinner, dine in. Had brisket sandwich. Meat was tender & juicy. Mac & cheese was creamy. I had the Smoakie beans, I didn't like it, but that's me, not the food. BBQ sauce was okay. Water cups are small and I had to get up twice for refills. Restaurant and restroom was clean. I happened to be in the area when I decided to try Smoakies, I rarely visit this neighborhood and Iive far away. I doubt I will eat here again

NEVER EVER EAT HERE!!! Owner and staff only care about money, NOT THE CUSTOMER!!! Received order from them, NO BBQ sauce!! None!! Owner and staff didn’t care, come back and get some but that’s all we can do. Really!!! How do you eat BBQ with no sauce! And no compensation, no “we are sorry”, “hey we apologize for having you drive back, here is a complimentary desert”. NOTHING!! Terrible business, after tasting the food, eh, maybe a 2 outta 10. Danky’s BBQ is by far a better choice. Maybe we get lucky and this place goes outta business soon!!

We have been meaning to stop by for a while and are very glad we did. The meat was fantastic, the corn bread was spectacular, the beans were super, and the spicy bbq sauce was out of this world. You most certainly need to try Smoakie's!

I would normally open this with a statement that maybe this was just an off day, but I'm seeing other people post pictures of dry meat saying "good BBQ!", so I'm thinking that Phoenix residents just don't know good BBQ.
Ordered two meals: brisket and rib tips, chicken and rib tips. Sides: potato salad, corn on the cob, smoakie beans.
Brisket: hands down, the worst brisket I've ever had from a restaurant. Tough, dry, overcooked, and looked like it was reheated from days ago.
Rib tips: Surprisingly good relative to everything else, but the rub on them tasted like any other rub you've had.
Chicken: hands down, the worst chicken my wife has ever had from a restaurant. She couldn't even finish it. I've never had chicken quite that overcooked; was turning to mush at such a level that it was like it had been in a crock pot for hours before.
Potato salad: food service potato salad. Was better with salt, but you've had it anywhere else.
Corn on the cob: somehow they managed not to ruin this, but it's also not particularly interesting either.
Smoakie beans: you'd think something with a bunch of smoked meat and a bunch of vegetables in it would have flavor. It does not.
We got cheesecakes for dessert, and that took the cake (pun intended): $5.99 each for tiny frozen manufactured slices, they must laugh to themselves every time they're boxing them up.
All in all, come here if you're looking for reheated of Famous Dave's or Dickey's, paired with sides and dessert from Costco.

Meats were delicious, bbq sauce good but buns were stone cold. Sides were Good. Peach cobbler was awful !!! Thick tough crust, way too much cinnamon, tasted like liquor, peaches, what few there were, were mush. Our first trip there and probably the last if they don't refund the cost of the bad cobbler.

The ribs had to much rub with no barbecue sauce. The brisket was good though. Ordered corn bread that was never delivered. I called and I was told it was a busy day. Was never offered an apology for not delivering the corn bread instead was told we don't deliver you can come and pick it up. I asked if I could get a credit for the corn bread on my card and was told I don't know how to do it and was told to call the manager or owner the next day. I was never asked my name and number to leave a message for the manager to issue credit on my card the person i spoke to just didn't seem to care. I don't think I will place another order from this place again. $125 dollars and no corn bread just rudness.

Good BBQ and sides. We had the two meat and two side platters. Collard greens and Mac n cheese were on point. Not spicy, so if you like heat ask for more chili peppers of hot sauce. Their smoakie beans were the star side for us!
We loved the pulled pork and fatty beef brisket slices. The lamb was a little dry but when you add the sauce from the large bottle on the table it was perfect!
We will be back.

First, if someone can tell me what this dessert is below I'll give you the $230.00 I wasted ordering food from this place. It's peach cobbler that was nearly black due to over seasoning and excessive nasty. That should have been thrown away along with the flavorless potato salad, greens beans and overcooked macaroni and cheese. The meat was mediocre at best. The worst thing is that we ordered sides here before and the food was great but it's a killer when you can't get consistency. Then they forgot most of our sides and answered the phone " yeah" when we called to rectify it, then tried to lock the doors when going back to get them. Customer service needs to be improved and the food needs consistancy. But I won't be the one to tell you if this ever improves because I'll never go back. A great owner and cook will care about customers experience. I work hard for my money like you do as well and I don't appreciate wasting it. Please take this feedback and know what you have you could be great but your employees need to care more.
