The chicken curry is great, the portions are big enough. The patties are yummy. I have been there few times. I have recommended to others.

Just be aware this is place has a B rating, but they do give you a large amount of food and it was tasty. I got the jerk bbq chicken, but the Jamaican chicken patty was not good. It had a really weird taste.

Every thing is delicious! The patties, curry and spices, plantains and ox tails and in generous enough portions that you can actually enjoy it to satisfaction. Order in advance because there's usually a line and a brief wait which is a good indicator that you have chosen the right place to eat. Slowly working my way through the menu.

Delicious Jamaican food. Portion is huge. It is fresh. You definitely have to try the ackee. Loved the vegan option.

I went to Ackee Bamboo on a date and man, I loved it. The food is pretty affordable, you'll get A LOT (perhaps even enough for 2 people) for a mere $12-18. I ordered the vegetarian ackee plate, which was one of the more expensive menu options but every bite was worth it. Despite being a fruit, ackee had a savory taste and it was well spices. You also get a bunch of sides, including some tasty rice and peas, stewed vegetables (a little bland but nutritious), and festival bread (I'm obsessed!). My girlfriend ordered the curry chicken, which was also amazing. We also shared a vegetarian patty, which was filled with spinach or callaloo and had a delicious curry flavor. A must try place in South LA!

Been going here for years and I'm rarely ever disappointed. jerk chicken tastes better that what I've had in Jamaica. So authentic. Ginger drinks, patties, and festival bread are small bites that are so yummy. I can never get bored of their food. #1 place to eat in the village.

The service is nice, the quantity and presentation of the food was great but the quality of the food could be way better. The sauce the oxtails were cooked in was entirely too OILY. The brown stew chicken was extremely DRY and sauce was chalky; so much so that it was difficult to chew the food. Maybe they served us a bad batch of chicken and oxtails, but I have eaten at several jamaican/caribbean food restaurants and I've not encountered this issue of overly dry/over-cooked meat and/or oily food. I may visit them again and try the same dish or another item to give it another try. I'd have to say I was dissapointed because I have heard great things about this place.
