We really liked the whangs! They use an unusual yet familiar seasoning on the chicken that's pretty delicious. The sides are mediocre, greens are unusually sweet and the cornbread was really hard and dry. The banana pudding is not the typical banana pudding with actual thick custard/pudding. They mix it with whipped cream which makes it a lot lighter and sweeter than I prefer. Nothing like pudding. I give 5 stars to customer service but y'all really need to work on packing "wet" food to go! A paper container with an unsealed lid doesn't hold greens very well. So thanks for the greens juice on my car floor carpet. You get 1 star for that. But I would totally return for the wings though!

Had high hopes for this place but it’s not anything special. Rice and beans were alright and look like sloppy joes. Mac and Cheese were noodles with a bit of cheese. The wings were wack! Flavor was wayyy off. Cornbeard was hard and dry.
Only good part was the chicken itself was cooked great.
And yes, the lady at the counter doesn’t care to give me (anyone) the time of day.
Won’t be back and I’m honestly sad about that.

Amazing food and service! My friend and I went while she was visiting LA and they made us feel so welcomed. Delicious food!! The greens, wings, and hibiscus tea were incredible!

Delicious, hospitable, and comforting. I came here at 10p on a Saturday and they took care of me with a great dinner box and lemonade. The max n cheese is fire and the breading on the chicken finger lickin. Strong recommend at any hour.

I don’t mean any harm, but no. This may be acceptable to people from LA, but as someone from the south, it’s a hard no. I can’t believe the lady in the comments claiming to be from Georgia saying that this is the best soul food she has ever had. This is barely soul food. She had to be paid. I’m adding to the negative Mac and cheese comments below, as well as the negative reviews regarding the “candied yams” and the rice and beans. It was just bad. The chicken was underwhelming (no seasoning and tasted like it was fried in old grease) and the foos was overall disappointing. Two stars for potential and because the fries were good to me.

Visiting from Texas. This place is different. Really not my taste. Everything was sweet it seemed. I guess I am used to a different style of comfort food. Do not let me sway you on if you should try, it might be your thing.

Some of the best soul food in Los Angeles! The seasoning on the chicken is amazing and sweet. That sauce is super tasty. The fresh sorrel tea hits the spot. Super busy, order ahead if you don't want to wait. Great music performances in the back!

Not only is this the best soul food I've ever had (and I'm from GA) it's the best food I've had in A really long time. Ignore the one bad review below. The flavors of everything were amazing. The chicken is wonderful and they throw down on the greens! They're my favorite. And the banana pudding lawwdd! I've ordered twice in a week and I'm not ashamed at all. Lol
