For everyone saying food is expensive. Please stop thinking that Mexican food has to be cheap. Mexican cuisine, specially from Oaxaca, is complex and rich in ingredients. They export some ingredients from the motherland. That's why the food is good and that's why is price reasonably.
Besides the small rant. Everything was really good! As good as my grandma's mole.
This food was good but not great. The food is like what you would get at a backyard quincinera which is good but not super flavorful or outstanding. I had the taquitos, Chile rellno, and barbacoa plate with chips and salsa. The portions are big which is a bonus. Keep in mind this place is CASH ONLY and they will make you go to the store next door to use their ATM no exceptions.

This restaurant is a true gem. The food tastes fresh and preservative free, and the flavors are incredibly vibrant and rich. This is a one of a kind experience and every item on the menu deserves ordering. The horchata is an especial shout-out as it comes topped with almonds fruit and prickly pear sorbet, a true treat. The tortillas are also wonderfully big fresh and delicious. It is cash only but there is an ATM in the convenience store next door. Great street parking. 10/10 cannot recommend enough.

The place is very nice, ambient music is pleasant, staff is very polite, the food presentation is nice and the flavor is amazing! I tried the barbacoa tacos, torta de pollo asado, and the mole (pictured). Everything was delicious. My husband who grew up in Chiapas, Mexico absolutely loved the mole and said it’s as authentic as you can get. You can tell they cook from the heart. The ingredients are fresh and the plates are very generous in size. You will leave with a full tummy and a happy smile ????

???????? MÉXICO (Oaxaca)
Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles:
It seems like much longer than just over a decade since this Arlington Heights institution opened and immediately starting attracting Oaxacan communities and general food lovers alike. While it may be slipping off listicles and year-end round-ups that need to infuse freshness and fad, it consistently makes some of the best Oaxacan food in the city and that will probably never change.

The food is good
We went for dinner last night and the place is decent clean.
They have a patio on the back
For appetizers we ordered a side of molotes witch consists of a dough made from corn, that is filled with a mix of mashed potatoes and chorizo and then fried in lard or oil. ????
Plus the barbacoa bowl was boom!
There was only one waitress and she did her best to offer great service to everyone

Yes food is Pricey but it tastes amazing . The owners of this restaurant are really nice they know my husband and my mother in law and they always great us with respect . The Best Oaxacan food I've ever had . I totally recommend this spot . I personally love the Enfrijoladas. And about the parking there's always parking around the library when you really want food from this restaurant you don't care about parking a block away .
