This place is a vibe! I've never been here when they were overbooked, so can't speak to the dinner rush, but there is a lot of seating here both indoor and outdoor. We usually get a table within 5-10 minutes, even without a reservation. Every seat seems intimate and a bit hidden (booths in particular, even when right next to another). The ambiance would be great for a date night.
Of all the times we've been here, the drinks are consistently great. Espresso martinis and margaritas are solid choices, but if you want a really delicious (and fun) time, go for the carajillo. They're the absolute best. Super smooth and pack a hidden punch, plus there's a nice cinnamon stick garnish and specialty ice cube.
In our last visit, we got really good drinks, per usual, and also some dinner after we were there for a bit. I got the trio de enchiladas del mar. Great, fresh seafood: crab, lobster, and shrimp. I wasn't super hungry so didn't eat much of the tortillas plus I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. It wasn't necessarily bad, just a ton of it and I'm just more of a red or mole fan. I THINK my friend got the cabo azul - there was also a lobster enchilada and stuffed poblano. She really enjoyed it. Looking forward to coming back another time when we've got a bit more of an appetite.
There are a few reasons it doesn't get 5 stars, all taken together. Basically, I just feel like at this price point they could elevate some elements. First, sometimes service is a bit slow and a few people seem like they don't really like if you don't order food and are sitting at a table, even in off hours. I get that urge as a former server, but if we spend a lot on drinks and there are plenty of other open tables, you'd think we would consistently feel more welcome. The food here is also extremely fresh, but not as flavorful as you might expect at this price and in Cali for Mexican-inspired fare. Most people are nice, though, and I don't think you're really paying for the food so much as the atmosphere. Also, last time we were there, my friend's card got stolen and someone went on a VERY expensive spending spree at Saks. Not really the restaurant's fault, of course, but it happened within 30 minutes of us leaving and you'd think they would've cleaned up the table quickly. Just sort of odd.

Javier’s the kind of restaurant where you go when you want to feel special.
The place is beautiful, you don’t feel like you’re eating at a mall but more like in a resort near the beach.
The margaritas are delicious and the food is sumptuous.

We had a great experience here. I had a chicken burrito which was served with guacamole sour cream and salsa. I got a mango lemonade and it was all fantastic also I really like their chips and salsa. The restaurant is beautiful and the four managers are doing an amazing job

Good food. Fast service today despite the busy day. Got a big table right outside and distanced from other tables.
Food was brought with their masks on which was nice.
Churros took a while and was a bit undercooked but oh well. The flan was good.
Cucumber margarita was strong and generous with cucumbers.
Glad they're still open

Very unique sauce on enchilada we loved it. Ceviche is fresh with full-sized shrimps. Tacos were just okay- not so special. However we liked the boiled beans on the side.

Super tasty cocktails. The hype was delivered. Don’t screw it up and make sure to get the signature Javier‘s cocktail. The churros got to us a little late so the ice cream had melted. I think that was due to the fact that we were at the bar.

The food is worth the wait, it's recommended to make a reservation for a Friday evening. It was a bit chilly at our table this time of year so bring a jacket. I loved the ambiance and food selection. I ordered the seafood enchilada trio, I asked for no cheese. There was one shrimp, lobster, and Dungeness crab enchilada. If you love seafood, I recommend this fresh-tasting entree.

The restaurant is very nice and a great place to have drinks. The food was not as tasty and was lacking in real Mexican flavor. There is valet parking and you should make reservations for dinner.

I’ve been searching for a good Mexican restaurant in LA since I moved here 5 months ago. My searches have lead me to tasteless, bland or overrated places. Recommendations from friends made me feel like they really didn’t love me. Lol coming to Javier’s was like finding an oasis in a desert. I was so happy when we were greeted with spicy salsa and warm chips. Our dishes was so flavorful and everything I’ve been searching for. We sampled 4 different margaritas and by far my favorite was the organic classic margarita. Our waiter was so attentive and professionally had the best recommendations. Add this to your list of restaurant searches and I’m sure you would agree this place will find a place in your heart.

This place is hands down one of the best places I have ever eaten at. From the moment you walk up you can see it's going to be an incredible dining experience! We were visiting from Texas and loved the whole ambiance! The chips were so good, but the salsa was excellent and better than most. The food came out hot and we all had nice size portions! They were totally booked for the evening, but they did squeeze us in and we only had to wait about 40 min. We actually enjoyed waiting since the weather was so perfect and there was so much beauty to look at all around on the patio. The parking was a little confusing especially for out of town guests, but we managed to figure it our! The only negative thing I have to say about the whole evening was that the margaritas were very plain with not much of a flavor to them, but overall it was AMAZING!
