My son just moved into the neighborhood and we tried La Abeja for a quick dinner. A steady stream of local customers which is always a great sign of quality! Nothing fancy but delicious food. We ordered the vegetarian and pork w/green sauce burritos. Customer service was friendly and Poncho is a rock star.

I enjoy the food at abacus because it's so delicious and the beans are excellent

The chile rellenos are among the best I’ve had. It’s a Mexican American place that has good service, good food, and it appears a loyal community following.

I don't get to go to LA as much as I would like, but when I do I do my best to seek out the most interesting restaurants I can. The Bay Area being, in my opinion, San Diego and Orange County's toughest rival on the west coast as far as dining is concerned, I do so with great relish, and Google is my guide. Rolling out bed early on a Saturday morning, hoping to find someplace close by that was original and masterful, the Google app guided me from my bedchamber to this place just off of the Cable Car line.

Woke up crazy hungry with an appetite for authentic Mexican food. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting. It's authentic, deliciously full of flavor, and always busy. The employees are also are kind and attentive; they only add to the experience.

Its great to see so many reviews from other folks who like me have been coming here for decades (39 years). As a Los Angeles native in my 60's, I cherish places like La Abeja because they are among the few constants remaining in an ever changing city. I've known 3 generations of Roy's family over the years. Unfortunately I'm kind of stuck on the huevos rancheros and can rarely bring myself to order something different. The home made chili sauce in the little jar on every table is heaven. Hey, the place isn't fancy or hip but an old fashioned homey neighborhood restaurant that satisfies every time. I'm so happy I've been able to enjoy this place, the people and the food for most of my life.
