Where do I start. I am not rating the food. And I am not rating my server. Both of those were phenomenal. Theresa was fantastic! And so was my Kentucky Mule cocktail. Highly recommend. My only issue is that when being seated I expressed how I feel about sitting directly next to people while eating. In my case I was on the outside of the restaurant by the window and I just felt uncomfortable. I asked if I can sit in the place shown in this picture. And I was told they prefer to save that for couples or groups which I completely understand. However, minutes after I was sat and provided a menu, another person gets seated by the same host. Literally where I had requested to be seated. And was by themselves. I felt a bit triggered by tht but was too hungry to care. What really dissapointed me is that I order a full meal with a cocktail, and the person who was sat didn’t order more thank a beer. 1 beer. And left I would say 15 or 20 minutes after. I expressed how I felt to the manager and she definetly understood my situation on why I was upset. Again my server was perfect. Food was flavourful. Drink was great. But I don’t like the way I was treated compared to the other person. I feel like my appearance compared to that other person might’ve been a factor and that just doesn’t sit right. To the owner I want to say that it was handled perfectly by the manager and server. But I wanted to share that experience so I hope no one goes through it the same.

I've been there probably 20 times, and each meal has been a great experience. The food is delicious, the menu creative, the service is perfect and the ambience wonderful. This time was Friday jazz night and we were serenaded by a talented jazz big band. Another great experience at Ray's and Stark Bar!
Update, another visit and it's still amazing! Very consistent and delicious!
Another visit. It must be good as I keep coming back!

Had a lovely evening on a Friday night during the jazz nights, we sat inside so didn’t get to watch but listen. Our food was good not great. I don’t understand why water is only bottled and have to pay. The service was great.

We came on a Friday afternoon.
Very lovely evening.
We were celebrating my friends accomplishments.
Everything was wonderful until I bit into what appeared to be a tooth. It hurt and it was gross. I kept feeling the pieces in my mouth.
This was in my lobster pasta.
My friend insisted that it was part of the lobster shell and didnt let me complain. Regardless I didnt finish the pasta I got grossed out. This "bone" looks like a tooth. I left disappointed.

As a break from the exhibitions at LACMA, I thought I would take my family for a quick snack at Ray’s. We ordered one adult meal split between me and my wife along with a kids meal split between the kids. The waiter then told us that if we were occupying four seats we would need to purchase four meals. I told him we were not too hungry and that was all we needed for now. I also pointed out how the restaurant was only 20% full. I asked for the manager to check if this was really restaurant policy. No manager ever came and the waiter begrudgingly said he would do it just this once for us. However at this point the little appetite we had was lost. As we left, I reaffirmed to my family how one should never take more food than they intend to eat and to never let anyone sell you more than you need. I guess if you are going to Ray’s plan to go big and spend big, or you might be asked to leave.

I love this place. Great white pizza and soup. A little pricey for the size of the pizza. It’s def not one to share between people. But it is very good. They are small so keep that in mind. Outdoor and indoor seating. Good drinks. Next to LACMA you can make a whole adventure out of your day. You can also book a reservation online prior. If it’s a weekend I would recommend doing that so you can make sure you get a table.

Pretty sure I got food poisoning from the watermelon and tomato salad.
After a long day decided to stop by for lunch for expensive overpriced food. Wait staff was slow and took their sweet time to come by. This repeated after the meal was done.
Well they served the watermelon and tomato salad, I was feeling like I wanted some seasonal food. Everything looked appropriate. Smelled good and tasted as it should. There was a cheese at the bottom. Also a oil and vinaigrette so it kind of masked the tastes of the fruit and tomatoes. Something was tainted as my stomach was terrible after eating immediately.
Probably couldn’t sell the fruits or tomatoes and gave me a spoiled dish. It’s either that or the cheese. It was a little slimy. Now that I think of it, I feel dumb but the oil and vinaigrette masked the foods. Would not recommend.
Like others have said, tourist trap. Terrible service, and literally bad food. Bill came out to $40 for a kids pizza and the salad.

It’s perfectly located at LACMA and great outdoor dining experience to be surrounded by palm trees, fresh air and amazing views of the museum. Food is amazing, so delicious and beautifully prepared. A must visit for drinks and a very nice meal when you’re at LACMA.

Overpriced. The two dishes in the photos below are $30+ each. The total bill came out to $70+. Definitely a tourist trap.

It’s a nice restaurant/bar snuggled in LACMA - perfect to get something to eat and unwind after exploring through all the exhibitions at LACMA. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially on Fridays during LACMA’s Jazz Nights. The service can be a little slow at times, but the waiters are all friendly. We started off with a cocktail and glass of wine. Cocktail was okay but I preferred the Prosecco over the Champagne. We also got the olives, Margherita Pizza, Roasted Chicken, and the Croissant Bread Pudding. They were all so good. The olives weren’t too salty and so so good with a hint of rosemary. The Margherita Pizza was really good and crust was amazing too. The Roasted Chicken and asparagus were really good. Im not a huge fan of goat cheese, but thankfully the goat cheese polenta wasn’t too pungent. The Croissant Bread Pudding was yummy. I also love how when I asked for crushed peppers and Parmesan cheese, the cheese wasn’t the fake stuff, but actually freshly shredded cheese. The yummy food and the live jazz was the perfect way to end the night!
