i really miss the indoor seating which was previously available , the vibes were amazing.

I've had better airplane food. I looked at photos of this place before coming here and was hoping they didn't do it justice. I've heard good things about this place via word of mouth so I figured I'd try it even if the photos looked rough. I also heard it was pretty cheap so I figured I'd try it and it wouldn't be too much of a waste of money regardless. I was so wrong. First of all, I ordered a hickory burger and a slice of pie and it was over $20. The hickory burger supposedly had some special seasoning on it, but the burger was anything but flavorful. They make their own "special" sauce that I've heard has apples in it but it tasted like some weird ketchup with a strange consistency. Half of the lettuce fell out of my burger before I even got to it and there was still too much lettuce in there. It was a truly bland, bleh burger and, although I am not one to waste food, I could only get through half of it before deciding it wasn't worth the calories. I tried a couple of their fries and they could not have been more dry and flavorless. All the salt in the world couldn't give those fries any flavor. I was hoping the pie would give this place the comeback I wanted it to have but I was, again, very disappointed. I know pecan pie is difficult to make and, although I've never personally baked one, I am confident I could make a better pecan pie than this place did. The pecans were dry and lacking any glaze on top and the bottom part had literal congealed chunks of what tasted like misplaced flan. The crust was subpar, yet the best part of this pie. Truly not worth whatever you've heard about this place - save yourself the time and money and go to in n out for a better experience.

We got the Steakburger with double cheese (Our Original—1927) and the Grilled Cheese. The Grilled Cheese was phenomenal, nearly perfectly made. The burger was good but I’m not a relish guy and they had it in the sauce. Still good tho! Ate our food in the patio outside. We went on March 5th 2022 so it was a bit chilly. They ran out of heaters so that was the only downside to the experience.

Burger couldn't beat In N Out or Shake Shack. And it's a recipe since 1927??
Patty was delightful and smoky but the burger was drowned in relish, sauce, and pickles. The cheddar couldn't save it. Proportions were off, entire burger tasted sour. Fries come completely unsalted.
The outdoor heated seating at the back is very cute, though.

Amazingly good burgers and amazingly good pie at this “blast from the past” diner style restaurant in LA. It’s pretty simple but often the best places are. The size of the burger is really good and be prepared for a ton of fries. Sitting in back on a nice night is pretty much as close to perfect as you can get in this crazy world. Don’t expect amazing service, but the awesome food makes up for it.

This is my 2nd visit, 1st time was pre Covid. Hickory Burger is delicious and Banana pie was yummy. A little on the high side for burger and fries, but so worth it. Can't wait till they open the indoor counter for dining. They have a great set up out back with plenty of tables and heat lamps. Thanks for being a great place to dine ????

not only is this place adorable, the food is amazing, the service is fast, and the employees are incredibly kind. they have great outdoor seating (the inside is still closed due to covid) and serve your food to go. loved the banana cream pie, but the apple was very fresh and delicious too.

Amazing burger! Saw the reviews and knew I had to try this spot which lived up to its long reputation. Had the steak burger with cheese as it comes and flavor was incredible. Perfect portion size and exactly what I was looking for.

Whenever we are in town we visit the Apple Pan. Boy are things different this time. You can walk up and order at a window! You can pay with a credit card! It’s all pick up and outdoor dining only. We love that it’s still here and that they are open. We will support them whenever we can. But, I sure hope some of the old things come back. We miss the wait staff, eating at the counter, drinking out of a paper cone cup etc. They are still one of the best burgers in town; we will be back.
