This place is beautiful. I love the all the outdoor plants and out outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly! The ocean view is ok but you are distracted by all the construction going on. The menu is lacking. I feel like you are paying more for the ambience than anything else.
I tried a couple of things on the menu. The cacio e pepe was flavorless the pasta itself was overcooked. It was pretty bad that I couldn't finish it. The meatball dish was ok the meatballs were rubbery. Someone in my table ordered a pizza that was not done until our dinner was over.
Some of the dishes that I did enjoy were the truffles appetizers, Roman salad and the bread with ricotta. The spaghetti with clams was the only main dish was actually delicious although slightly salty.
They did a great good with the cocktails I recommend la Mosca as well as the venetian spritz.
For the price you are paying at this place you would think that the food would be worth it. But sadly not. I would recommend this place for drinks and appetizers only.

Love love the ambience and the service. The food was great too only wish they had more non pork options in pizzas and pastas. Again the ambience though and the 29th floor views of harbor are stunning. It's a must try in San Diego. Of yes and home made foccacia bread was delicious.

Such a picture perfect design of a restaurant. Getting off the elevator you walk into a starlit room full of plants and then into the restaurant w great views. Fresh mozzarella was extra special and a great way to kick off the evening.

Absolutely delicious Italian bliss! Highly recommend the tableside mozzarella, made fresh on a charcuterie plate. Quality and service are impeccable and the views are astounding. The entire rooftop restaurant is designed to mirror a cruise ship aesthetic, and the entire experience is second to none.

This place has it all. We visited just after sunset and got a great view of the colors changing into night. The service is top notch. Such great ambience and decor too. But what you'll really love is the food. The food was decadent, but not too much. Indulging from the dessert menu is a must! I would recommend for a date night or just a gathering of friends. I'll definitely be back again soon!

The atmosphere is spot on! Both indoors and outside have really good vibes and views. The food is good but nothing amazing. As an appetizer we had the tableside mozzarella and added 2oz prosciutto. We followed this with the fungi pizza and sausage pizza. They are quite big and we ended up taking a bunch home. We could have easily split 1. A heads up to bring a jacket if you go on a cooler evening, they do have heaters but it can be very windy and not all outdoor tables have heaters above them.

Table side mozzarella was cool to watch, alot for 2 people especially if you want to try multiple things. The drinks were perfect! The meatballs so good and fresh!

Seneca Trattoria, a wonderful place with excellent food and one of the best views in the city of San Diego. I had the opportunity to enjoy an excellent dinner with friends in this wonderful place, impeccable service, and very exquisite food. The best thing about the place is the view of the city and without a doubt, its selection of wines and cocktails.
This place is my recommendation if you are looking for a place for a date or just for a luxury celebration this can be a good place. I definitely have to come back, Thanks Seneca staff good job

This place is awesome! Love the ambiance! Reservation is kind of hard to get because they’re so popular. Brunch is a good time to go and it’s not as crowded compared to dinner service. It’s at the roof top of intercontinental hotel. The drinks are great and the table side mozzarella service is to-die for. A must visit if you’re in SAN DIEGO! Oh and they are dog-friendly as well! ????????????

Definitely not going back to this place. For the same price, there are many other restaurants in SD with similar views and better food.
Cons: My husband and I went there for my Birthday for early dinner at 4pm. Despite beating assured over the phone that the table with the view is a possibility, when we got there we were seated at a table by the walk way with no access to any kind of views. Every time someone walked by, the table and the chair shook making it very uncomfortable. The hostess was very condescending and told us that they were overbooked and those tables weren’t available. We were there for 2 hours and we’re still plenty of open tables.
They did absolutely nothing special for the Birthday - not even a single candle on our dessert. My husband was very disappointed since he had put in a request a month earlier and also reminded them while being seated.
The food is nothing special and is very bland. We could only smell the truffle on their appetizer but couldn’t taste it, despite it being the key ingredient. The drinks were standard, not worth the craft cocktail pricing.
Pros: The view is good if you’re one of the very few tables who get to enjoy it. The decor needs a special mention as well. The fresh mozzarella by the table was quite enjoyable.
