Freakin' excellent pizza, and real Detroit-style with the caramelized crust (the pizza reminds me of Loui's in Hazel Park, for those of you who came from Motown). It's a bit pricey, but it is excellent.
It is inside a Vietnamese restaurant with a hip feel, so of course they also make Detroit-style pizza. My wife loved the pho soup.
The staff is personable and friendly. A great experience all the way around.

I grew up close to New York and never ever saw myself eating any other type of pizza. After coming here assuming it was New York style I was pleasantly surprised, I will say now i will rarely ever eat New York style instead focusing on Detroit style. Honestly the best pizza I have ever laid eyes on. I would highly recommend going over other options like In-N-Out, Chipotle, or Pizza Hut. I guarantee you it will be worth it. Also worth mentioning the waiters and waitresses were amazing and very helpful.

It’s giving crispy, it’s giving chewy, it’s giving airy, it’s got perfection written and woven all into it. Thanks Andy! The ranch? Chef’s kiss. The customer service? Divine. The parking? Confusing for a first timer but park in the Avalon lot, it’s free for an hour! 12/10 would buy again

I reviewed dtown pizzeria recently on the Phorage page so I'll return the favor and post my Phorage review here now that I've had time to come back and try their menu.
If you didn't know, Phorage and dtown pizzeria share the same kitchen and dining room. Two great menus under one roof!
Beef Pho - 5 ????!
Pork Banh Mi - 5 ????!
Excellent meal with fresh, high quality ingredients. The banh mi baguette was a perfect balance of soft and chewy but also a touch crunchy. The pho broth was rich and flavorful.
For a restaurant using two very different menus, they do a fantastic job with both.

Let me know if you find better Detroit-style pizza in LA than here at Dtown! Will be back to try the burrata/pesto combo.

Hands down best pizza in the world.. ever… they can back that up since they won the best pan pizza award at the pizza expo which had challengers from all over the world.
Detroit style pizza has a crispy square crust. Here they use all fresh ingredients and bake a pizza to perfection. My go to is the goomba + I add mushrooms and onions. The truffle pizza is amazing. They added their championship pizza which includes wagyu beef as a topping.
Go there, try it, enjoy it ????

This is hands down my favourite pizza place in LA. I don’t live that close to Dtown pizzeria but will travel the distance to get my fix. From the cheesy crust to the crunchy base to the tasty toppings, everything is just spot on! My go to is the goomba, a solid 5 stars!
A must try!

Seriously incredible pizza. Best version of a Detroit style pie you’re going to find anywhere, Los Angeles or otherwise. Highly recommend the Goomba Pie, Slingin’ Sticks, and the Red Wings. Unlike most pan pizzas, this one has crunch and texture in each bite.
