What a shame! Spent over $850 for family of 4 dinner, for plastic water cups, no effort in presentation, and nothing really to present for at all.

Simply a once in a life time sushi opportunity. If you wondered what “Juguro dreams of sushi” experience would have been like. Come here and find out.

There’s a lot of hype about this place. Thats what got me curious.
If you have some deposable income (200+/person), and that’s what I had, this isn’t a bad choice.
But if you’ve been to Japan for fine dinning, it might not meet your expectations for a few reasons.
Fish selection wasn’t bad, they have a bit more than run of the mill. but the rice kind of ruined it. It had enough moist and favor, but the middle is a bit harder than it should. Almost like they didn’t cook long enough before taking it out to cool.
The size of each piece is smaller than expected be about 20%. Normal each piece should comfortably fill your mouth, but every time I ate a piece, it feels like a bit more empty than it should, not enough to feel fulfilling for each bite.
Also, Would also be nice if they offer real wasabi, not the substitute from a tube.
I know they are going for simple decoration with quality ingredients. But for this price point, not sure if the quality justifies it.

Why do people go to Nobu? For the view, yes. For proper sushi, come here! This is the place to get the best sushi in the country. Everything is fresh here. Like FRESH.

PROS: Excellent service and quality.
CONS: Sushi pieces are really small and like someone else mentioned prices are not transparent (for example 30 dollars for 2 pieces of average uni is in my opinion too much). I think that for the 200 dollars plus tip that they charge per person you can find much better places in LA offering for that price even a better sushi selection (for example we didn't get any toro for that price...).
All in all dinner was nice, I was expecting to pay that price because of other previous reviews but I also expected top of the line items. So i guess I will not be going back because I know other places were cost benefit is way better.

Great quality and tasting sushi. The issues I had were the super thin slicing of the fish and the very high prices.
I enjoyed the food but definitely not worth the price. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. Super small portions and it seems like they want to charge you as much as they can.

Seriously some of the best sushi I've ever had. Absolutely worth every penny. And the service is incredibly precise. Loved everything about it and I will definitely be back. Probably many times!

Unbelievable sushi! Highly recommend. We got the takeout Peter's Choice and it was amazing.

We're not allowed to take photos, but for a good reason. Since this is omakase, or chef's choice, the dishes will keep coming until you let them know you're about 80% full before ending with a hand roll. They serve you at a very quick, but steady pace, so if you take photos, you would ruin the rhythm. The sushi were very fresh, and the green tea wasn't just tea bag, but authentic matcha powder. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, but it's not a place I'd go back often due to its price (min. $150 USD per person) despite the high quality. Just be prepared to take a hit on your wallet.

Outstanding sushi destination on Sunset, sitting unassuming atop a strip mall. Omakase at the sushi bar should be the standard here, a simple but effective selection of fresh fish and some prepared kitchen items. Not to be missed.
