Staff was extremely friendly. Food was delicious. Drinks were also delicious! Parking is pretty easy on Ashland or one of the side streets. Can’t wait to go back.

If you have ever been to a Mexican restaurant then this place will take the new spot in your favorite list. They give you free unlimited chips and salsa which tastes so amazing. Definitely the best salsa I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The perfect texture and perfect spice level that is just spectacular. I ordered and breakfast burrito and it was exactly what I wanted and more. It was only 10 bucks and it was HUGE! With potatoes too! I could only eat half so now I have left overs too. Also, we are outside in their amazing patio space that was very spacious. The only negative I could say was they gave my girlfriend cilatro when she didn’t order it on her taco but the waitress literally came out right after and noticed the mistake and gave us a whole new taco free. Just honestly very professional place and super fun atmosphere. I love it❤️

Whoa!! What a knock out spot!! Welcoming inside and outside! Fun and unique Mexican food. Plus a extremely photogenic Churro Parlor which is to die for!!!

The quesabirria was amazing! I also got the arachera but it was a bit too char for me. Their Perfida, Michelada and their Cazuela Tapatia are all excellent! Also the wait staff are super tentative and very helpful. Drove almost an hour to get here and it's so worth it

Easiest 5/5 stars I've ever given! I really like the space and the patio. The food... amazing. If someone knows how to make beans like that, please let me know ????. No other beans will ever compare. Rice was perfect, good salsa, great micheladas and the churro place right next door makes them fresh per order. Definitely worth visiting!

Food was amazing. The decor was everything. Especially the big open windows. I ordered the steak quesadilla and pork tacos. The meat was grilled just right. Some of the best Mexican food in the city.
The staff were nice attentive and on point will definitely come back.

Long time neighborhood restaurant. Great food, drinks and ambience! Same owners have a Churro parlor which they make from scratch. So yummy!!

So glad I visited this place. I got to sit in the patio. Bit windy, on my day but there's about 17 tables out here. I loved the drinks, got both the tamarind and guayaba based margaritas and I loved them. Just the right mix of tequila/mezcal. I ordered the Steak Sincronizada. I'm very picky with meat, and the asada was good, not great. The Sincronizada is great. It's like a proper quesadilla with asada and with cebolla y tomate. The rice and beans were good to. The salsa was great and the chips were good.
Cherry on top was the flan. Most are gelatin based or an imitation but this one is a real Spanish flan and it's real good.
Definitely coming back.

El Tapatio is a classic neighborhood staple and go to. Whether it’s to grab a couple Palomas and Margaritas with some chips and salsa on the patio in the summer, or grabbing a full meal, you can’t go wrong. Everything is prepared fresh to order but does not come at a premium price as everything is very modestly priced. My rotation of Chile rellenos, camarones Al Tequila, and enchiladas is my go to, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Great to see them grow and doing well with addition of Churro Parlor next door too!

Lovely outdoor seating, great food, great price and connected to the churro parlor. We were seated right away, complimentary chips and salsa were served immediately and we had great service and food! If you’re looking for a quick dinner that’s not overpriced and still delicious, this is the place to go.
