My wife enjoyed our dinner experience at Boka. In particular, the waitstaff was excellent and eager to engage with us to talk about the food and wine(s).
We did the chef's tasting, which had five savory and two dessert courses. We opted to order bottles of wine instead of doing the wine flight.
For the most part, we really enjoyed the food. Much of the delight in the dishes were in the detail. For example, the final savory course was Australian Wagyu beef. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but the real prize on the plate was a corned-beef tongue piece (it's under the lettuce in picture attached) that had been seared. It was just the perfect size, and greatly enhanced what was already a pretty fantastic dish.
The only food disappointment was the cod they served in the 4th course. There was simply nothing special about the dish, and mine was under-seasoned.
We left feeling that Boka is a bit past its time. The ambience was not very inviting or comfortable. It was also difficult to hear the servers as they explained the courses due to the ambient noise. I'm glad we went, but I'm not sure I would choose to go again, at least for a while.

Wow! Such an amazing dining experience. Came here in May 2022. The gnocchi (which I’m normally not a fan of) was the best pasta I’ve had in my life. The duck was insane according to my brother (he’s still raving about it ????). You can tell that the menu and ingredients are chosen with care and attention to detail and quality. The only minus I have is for my vegetarian main dish (smoked beets) - which tasted too “smokey” and therefore unfortunately overwhelmed any other flavor of the condiments.
The decor and ambiance is lovely and perfect for a more intimate date night or special occasion.
Yes it’s expensive but it’s worth going here at least once!

Amazing 7 course menu with delicious small very unique portions. Very nice service. We went with a baby and they gave us a space for the stroller. My husband ordered a dish and left with a baby while me and my 17 years old daughter enjoyed our 7 course meal.

Boka is a great boutique restaurant. We opted to order a bunch of starters and a few mains instead of the tasting menu. We had the ricotta gnocchi, the smoked beats, short rib, and the marinated cucumbers. All of them were great. The Environment is dark and moody, which is a nice touch for any upscale dinner spot!

My boyfriend and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary at Boka and immensely enjoyed their 8 course meal. We felt extra special in the little details from the celebratory glass of sparkling wine to the personalized menu. Our waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable and handy with a light for my photos. Portion sizes were substantial as we left pretty full. The ricotta agnolotti with truffles should definitely have a permanent home on their menu. I will say the only disappointing course was the cucumbers. They were incredibly underwhelming, boring and very basic. Also, I would have preferred to have one more meat dish, though the Waygu was a decent size. Overall, lovely food experience in Chicago.

I came here for dinner to try the seven course meal as well as the wine pairing. It was incredible. My brother and I opted to get the duck add on as well as the wine pairing for that. The pace was great, service was awesome, and the food was out of this world. Yes, it’s super pricy, but it was so worth it to do for a special occasion.

I had my graduation dinner here. The staff made me feels so special (especially our server Augustus). My family got the tasting menu and everything was delicious. The beef and duck were perfectly cooked and all the sauces were amazing, they even made an effort to avoid foods I didn’t like and the substitutions were fantastic! I could not recommend Boka more for any occasion!

We came here for the restaurant week dinner menu. It's $55 per person and you get to taste a their signature dishes. We've been here twice and I think overall the food was great but the portion was a bit small compared to other restaurant week menus, which is understandable bc it's one Michelin star. Overall, the food were delicious but only if the portion was a bit bigger it would've been a five star for me.

Went for the first time for restaurant week since it was 1 of 2 Michelin 1 Star restaurants on the list. I was very impressed with the artistry with the plating of the dishes as well as the flavors. A plus how the bartenders were very knowledgeable on what wines paired well with each dish. Will be back to try their main menu items and other wine pairings.

Overall experience was good, but food didnt meet my expectation. Duck was a bit too sweet to my taste, and fish was very softly melting but a bit blend. I asked food to be less salty overall, but still felt quite salty.
