Cash only! We forgot so we had to walk back to the car and luckily there was some cash in there. The pastries were good but nothing special. Tasted similar to many of the Chinese bakeries.

Important note: this place is cash only! They have an ATM in the lobby.
I got the bbq pork bun & a strawberry fruit cake ????. The pork bun was good, but served cold. The flavor was a sweeter bbq. The strawberry fruit cake was moist, fluffy, and delicious! It wasn’t too sweet like some cakes are.

If you're looking for a good old fashion Cantonese bakery, go to Chiu Quon! It's located in the older side of Chinatown on Wentworth. Standard fare of buns filled with bbq pork, curry beef, red bean, coconut, custard and so much more. Regular and Portuguese egg tarts... among other items. A good stop when visiting Chicago!

We live nearby in Indiana, and we take day trips sometime to Chicago. We absolutely love stopping by! They only take cash, but they have an ATM inside the store, so it doesn't really matter.
Me and my family love the Chocolate and Coffee (Cake?) Rolls, Pineapple Buns, Cream Buns, and even the Portuguese Egg Tarts! I would highly recommend these!(And they are pretty cheap haha, we eat these for breakfast along with some fruits and veggies! Not the the healthiest, but tastes amazing!)

I dropped in here on a whime to grab some much-wanted dessert. I was surprised by the selection!
I got a Portuguese-style egg tart (pasteis de nata...I remembered devoring them 6 at a time in Portugal!), a cream cone, and a coconut cream bun.
Cash only establishment (but I spotted an ATM inside).
Everything was fresh when I got back to hotel. Nothing stale. Good flavor, though I expected the egg tart to be a big sweeter. Very good! A+

Early morning visit on a Wednesday. Not to busy. Large selection to choose from. I got about 6 different items, as I was buying for a group. We had buns, steamed buns and rice crepes. Everything was delicious. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area.

The coffee mousse cake was good. Would prefer more cake than mousse but was overall still pleased. 1 slice is under 5 bucks and big enough to lovingly split with one other person for a nice memorable treat!

In and Out, with delicious pastries. I got the Japanese cheesecake (bc I saw it on TikTok lol) and a coconut pastry. Everything looked so tasty!

Bakery here was alright. The coconut bun had no filling inside so it was kind of bland and the taro filling in the taro bread was a bit dry. I would recommend the tarts as they do look good.

I ordered special traditional Chinese wedding pastries and a fresh fruit wedding cake for my son's wedding. They both turned out great tasting and looked awesome! If you are looking for a special cake, this is definitely the place to go. The art work/decoration was fabulous! But, make sure you bring your patience when ordering since they might not understand everything over the phone. I would go in person if you can.
