Probably one of the best burger spots I ever ate at. Not to small and not stuffed with ingredients were you can't enjoy the burger. Bun and patty both always taste fresh when I have eaten there.

Good burgers. Fantastic fries. The blue cheese and bacon fries blew me away and so did the cheddar fries. Waitress Zoe was super nice and helpful.

This place was my favorite burger joint. But I will not return to eat here.
It was always more expensive, and the portions were small, but the ingredients were good and the patty was perfection.
That said, something happened in the last year and the ingredients stop being good as they used to, and the burgers are always overcooked.
I update my 5 stars to 1 after getting a "well-done" patty twice while asking them not to overcook it.
Without the burger being tasty this place is just an overpriced, small portions low quality overcooked burger joint.
What a disappointment.
Update 2022:
Last time I was here the burger was disappointing in the sense that it was way overcooked. I'm hoping it was a one time thing and so giving this place the benefit of the doubt for now.
Older review 2020-2021:
Best burger I had in years!
Ordered the Grass-Feed Beef with the chili-rubbed onion and amish blue cheese (#2). I was a bit hungry after since the portion isn't that big (if you you are not a big eater this will be perfect for you), but the price was just.
Second time ordered the other Grass-Feed Beef (#1) and loved it. Because I knew I would probably want something extra I also ordered the wings (blue BBQ) which were a let down (not the sauce fault, just not good wings).
They work together with Fish Bar in a way you can seat in the Fish Bar balcony and order from DMK, which I did ????

Their sunrise burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. We had a really sweet waitress. The atmosphere wasn't really my vibe - the room was a little too dark - but some people might prefer that.

This is the BEST burger restaurant (and my personal favorite!) DMK burger bar is an effortlessly cool restaurant with charm and ambiance. With a menu that features circulating burgers and shakes of the month, there is always something fun to try. DMK beef is grass fed, and it makes all the difference. Many of my major milestones are celebrated here where the staff is warm and friendly. The parmesan truffle fries are insanely delicious and I would recommend them to everyone! I cannot say enough good things about DMK, try it for yourself!

Updated review: I took my sister here to celebrate my graduation but disappointed in many ways. We got a Rambler to share and a side of parmesan fries. The burger was ok but not 16$ good and had light toppings literally burger and bun. The fries was great but came 10 min after we finished our burger. It was supposed to be an appetizer or at least a side :/
I ordered the shake of the month (apple pie) and my sister ordered chocolate shake. Photos shows how it has been served. My sister didn’t even touched hers because of the rude and messy way they served that and I tried mine and it was peanut butter shake! I let the waitress know but she said: “Are you sure?” She checked with the kitchen and apparently there was a mix up. She took out the shakes from the check but we received apologies for wasting our time and money here.
I’m very disappointed that I choose this place for my celebrations. We had a terrible experience and I apologize to those whom I recommended this place to.

The food is great. I went there with my friends and they were all happy about their food. I got the Rambler and it was one of the best burgers that I had in my entire life!!!! Juicy, fresh, cheesy and flavorful! Don’t forget to order their parmesan, truffle fries.

I am extremely surprised this place did not have more business when my partner and I stopped in on a late Friday afternoon. As our first time, we opted to try their shake of the month, apple pie (and made it boozy for just an extra $5), which our waiter was kind enough to split into 2 glasses and enjoyed a plate of their fried okra and pickles, the #7 burger, and the Wisconsin cheese fries. As a fried pickle lover, I was EXTREMELY pleased with how delicious their fried pickles were! Would definitely recommend. The burger was extremely large and a good value for the price. I would say my only complaint came with the fried being a bit over cooked. Overall the experience was extremely nice and I wish I would’ve caught our waiters name who was overtly nice and helpful. Definitely worth the price and will be back!

Wonderful grain fed beef and Bison burgers. The focus of the food at this establishment is quality over quantity. Made to order with scratch made ingredients. This is food that will wow you with unique flavors rather than a great big bun on a burger too big to wrap your face around. The only down side is that they've dramatically reduced their beer selection since the last time I was there (pre-pandemic).

Great restaurant. The vibes were great for a date night. We got the #5 & #6, both were delicious despite being non-traditional. Parmesan truffle fries were to die for! Also loved the beer selection and milkshake of the month. Highly recommend.

I've been to a lot of excellent burger places, and DMK definitely ranks among the best. The burger we had was exceptional and cooked to perfection, and the fries we had with it were also great. They have a nice selection of beers and wine, and the atmosphere is really laid back. If you're looking for a burger place in the Chicago area, this is a must try.

We took a family trip to Chicago and after my lovely wife saw this place on a rerun of #dinersdriveinsanddives we had to check it out. The $15 grass fed beef burgers are only fine and they are so light on the toppings. My burger has a luck of sauce and like 3 over cooked onion pieces. The $7 table fries literally were the saving grace and the only reason for the stars.
We looked up the episode and it aired about 10 years ago. It seems like they are riding the tourist/food network fans wave and aren't concerned with repeat business.
Some locals did come in, sat at the bar and only ordered fries because they know. So if I were to return it would be ONLY to try the other fries

Ordered their Parmesan truffle fries. Seemed stale and flat. Was a big let down. Their okra and pickle fries were pretty good tho.
The burgers were simple and Stripped back to their true essence. The buns were pretty badass and fresh. Tried their bison which is their most popular burger. The meat itself was pretty dry but overall was good.

Perfect food. Excellent service. Good burgers. But THE SWEET POTATOES FRIES WERE TO DIE FOR! You can get an egg for $1 on any burger ???????? they usually have a different burger and shake special. Not sure if it’s weekly ? Clean space.

Do youyself a favor and order the number 5. It's probably the best burger I've ever had hands down. Not even joking.... Something about each ingredient complemented each other so well. The blueberry BBQ sauce with the goat cheese omg.... I also added an egg too
Split a patty melt with my buddy too as well as the angry fries. All super good as well. Also the first time I've had malort here haha
