So, I’m very hesitant to leave a non-5 star review for what seems to be a smaller, local cafe, but there are two things I want to share for the 3 star review.
1. They automatically include an 18% gratuity without mentioning it. I always tip at cafes (usually more than 18%) as I was a barista for 7 years, but I didn’t like that they don’t tell you that and then ask for a tip when using your card. To me, it’s not a tip if it’s included on an order of one. Why not just raise prices?
2. I asked for decaf and found out they don’t have it (I guess I’m odd for wanting decaf. I wouldn’t rate them lower just for that - it was more the attitude the lady up front had when sharing that and telling me tip is included when I asked why it cost so much more. For my first time there, it just kind of felt like I was more of a nuisance than welcomed ????♂️).
It’s unfortunate because the food was GREAT! I think it just goes to show how much the first person you interact with at a restaurant can have on your experience. I will say, everyone else I interacted with was very nice and friendly, so I’ll just chalk it up to a rough morning. We all have those days!
I may try it again to give them another chance and will change my review if so.

We visited Doma on a cozy Sunday. Doma never disappoints. Their breakfast sandwich is always on point- don’t forget to get the homemade hashbrown on the side- it’s the best! We tried their summer special (pictured below) and it was the perfect light summer time brunch option. Would totally get again!! Doma’s ingredients are wholesome just like their owner, Eva :)

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing staff. There’s a large, covered back patio in addition to the cute seating area in the front. Highly recommend for catching up with friends or a date

Doma is a whole experience in its own. From the time you enter till the time you leave you feel as though you have been transported into your best friends home. The ambiance is homey and beautiful while the staff are friendly and attentive. The food is consistently good and on point (for whatever you are craving) and needless to say I am obsessed with the breakfast sandwich. If you have yet to go, it is a definite must!

Fantastic hidden gem. Clean restaurant with a varied menu that should prove to have something for everyone. Enjoyed the cevapi platter for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The cevap was delicious and not dry. Filled me up for the rest of the day. Beautiful back patio that you can eat in. They do have options for takeout as well.

Came in from out of town on recommendation and enjoyed one of the better breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. Also definitely try the granola, yogurt and cherry compote. For when you’re feeling healthy ;)
Staff is extremely friendly and personable. The interior looks like what you wish your neighborhood cafe would look like. If DOMA is in your proximity -- lucky you.

Doma is one of my favorite places in the city! The menu offers simple, healthy, creative and delicious food. The space itself is bright and calming with minimalist/vintage charm. They can accommodate larger groups on the back patio, but it's also a perfect spot to tune into work for a few hours solo. For lunch, get their grain bowl or Caesar salad. Don't sleep on the ginger lemonade! Also, the breakfast sandwich/ hash brown combo will forever be a craving and never disappoints!

Delicious food and chill vibes. I’d recommend the breakfast sandwich with their homemade hot sauce.
Also ask to see what Croatian desserts they have for the day - we had the almond cookies dipped in chocolate which were fire. Chocolate chip cookies were also delicious - fresh, thin and chewy.

Great coffee shop with a patio out back. Vibey interior as well. Food is fantastic and best matcha latte I’ve found in Chicago. Highly recommend.

Phenomenal menu options. Having eaten at Doma multiple times now we have ordered different plates, from the breakfast plates and breakfast sandwich to the soups, breads, and veggie options, you cannot go wrong with their quality of ingredients and taste. This cafe is one of your best options for food and coffee in the city. They also have a fun and unique atmosphere, cool back patio, as well as a friendly, attentive, and informative staff. Can't beat the experience!

The atmosphere of this space cannot be matched. I visit whenever I’m in town and the quality of food and service is always consistent. The protected outdoor seating is a luxury when it comes to Chicago’s bipolar weather.
Highly recommend and can’t wait for my next visit.

This place is a gem! The back patio is enclosed, making it a light-filled place to work at or meet up at all year round. It’s never been crowded when I’ve gone, which also makes it feel safe covid-wise. I got this cevap (kebab?) sandwich which was pretty filling. They also gave GF pancakes and good coffee/espresso drinks.

They have a large shaded back patio!
Interiors were great! And food was also great! The Cesar dressing could use a bit more salt n pep. The chicken was amazing - let’s add that do some pasta ???????? the breakfast sandwich was a great size and had a lil heat! Staff was very welcoming!

Outstanding sandwich. Top quality ingredients and preparation. Only did a half sando which was plenty for a quick bite.
The sour cream and onion house made chips are delicious but could use a sprinkle of salt to really bring out the flavors.
Make sure to get a chocolate chip cookie as well!!!

This place felt like a true hidden gem. Staff was crazy friendly. Great vibes inside, and a charming patio out back that we didn't want to leave. Great latte, cookie, and maybe the best breakfast sandwich I've had in Chicago. Reasonable prices. That spicy sauce was delish.
