I live near Lincoln Park area and it is hard to find places like this with a simple setting, but tasty and I believe close to authentic Mexican food. The place is hidden in a gas station plaza so don’t get drawn away. It’s worth checking. The staff is fast and friendly. I ordered different types of tacos including veggies and it was really good. The cucumber Fresca was delicious

Look, if you happen to stop at the gas station next door on a trip, please eat here. It obliterated my expectations, and I thought it might be good just looking at it!
Taco was packed with meat but not messy, plenty of onion and cilantro, classic taco style. Little wedge of lime and 3 high-quality (likely made in house) sauces. A dark red smoky-spicy one, an orange creamier sauce, and a great creamy green sauce. Funny to mix and match them.
Then there's the birria. Birria has its own section of the menu and deserves it. I opted for a 4 dollar "quesabirria" which is a taco fried in beefy birria sauce, essentially. It's a wet, but still holdable, taco filled with beef and melted cheese, and it rocks. Perfect on its own, but a spritz of lime doesn't hurt.
Can't wait to go back, probably going to get a full-sized flour quesabirria and see how excessive that would be.

This is my second time here. The quesabirria tacos are sooooo bomb. Get it as a dinner w/ rice and beans. So worth it. Definitely one of my favorite Mexican spots in Chicago.

First, the food is great. The owner is fantastic. The serving sizes are why I gave it a 3. They're just too small. $5 for one taco. Unfortunately, that's the economy today. I'm bringing my own food for lunch to save. It's sad.

The best tacos and burritos I’ve ever had! Fresh, authentic, and pure deliciousness. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. So glad we stumbled upon this place! We will definitely be back :)

Food is very good. The quesabirria was excellent with the consumme. Crunchy and flavorful, but it seemed a bit small “taco” but i have no reference since this is my first try at this delicious dish. Price seems fair but ill have to try other quesabirria spots.

Don't let the gas station fool you. This is some or the best Mexican food in Chicago. All family recipes. Try the mole tamales. Special that is only on the menu a couple of times a week.

The food was amazing. We got the carne asada and bifstec tacos. The meat was so tender no tough chewy pieces and the flavor was on point. Fresh and hot. My sister came with her boyfriend just to wait on us while we eat and he even brought her two el pastor tacos just to try and they were AMAZING. Will definitely visit again.
