This is the best pizza in the city. Hands down. Small neighborhood joint that requires online preorders and carry out only -- totally worth it. A fermented sourdough crust that is cornmeal dusted, the freshest tomato sauce in town, and spectacular toppings -- we went with pineapple rings and cherry peppers and the sweetness and spice balanced the pizza perfectly. Get up to this location. Now.

Every time we’ve had George’s, we’ve had our minds blown. Been raving to all our friends that this is THE.BEST.PIZZA in the Chicagoland area and beyond. Absolutely worth planning ahead to get it. Go get you some!! :-)

Awesome pizza and great service. The sourdough crust is a game changer and the crispy pepperoni's with the finely chopped toppings are everything I didn't know I wanted in a pizza.

It's basically a normal amount of high quality toppings on a thick piece of really, really good bread. That being said, it is 10,000 times better than Pequod's, Lou Malanatti's, Uno's, Giordano's, or any of the other Chicago deep dish icons.

Just tried George’s for the first time and this place is great. I ordered the Halas’ Classic and it was super tasty. The crust was cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of crisp and no soggy bottom. Really looking forward to eating here again soon. 10/10 highly recommend.

Pineapple pizza was soupy with wet doughy crust. Never ordered a pineapple pizza before, but I thought this place would pull it off, with blistered pepperoni and jalapeño! We ordered this pizza three days in advance and were so looking forward to it! But it just didn’t work. Will try another tho. This guy is into his art you can tell. I’m sure it will be much better next time.

I was originally so excited about trying this place because I love a good deep dish pizza. I ordered pepperoni, bacon, mushroom, onion and garlic. The pieces of mushroom were so small and small amounts of it. Pepperoni was burnt. I dont mine well done but if it taste burnt, its not something I want to eat so I ended up pulling most of it off. Part of the pizza didn't have enough cheese. I was expecting my pizza to have all the love I saw from the news show segment. Also got a ceasar salad which was great. Lemoncello dessert was small and I have had better. Overall, I was disappointed with my pizza and probably would not go back.

I can’t remember the last time I ate more than one slice of Deep Dish Pizza.

Thank you George for finally making Deep Dish worth eating again.
This was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating it and I had a slice for breakfast the next morning.
I have never enjoyed Deep Dish Pizza, over the last 25 years I can’t remember one enjoyable bite of Deep Dish, George’s Pizza changed that.
This is really good dough, tasty toppings and perfect combo of textures, crunchy and chewy.
Thanks again George, we will be back for more.

Not your typical Chicago Deep Dish. Dare I say…. Better?
Seriously, some of the best pizza I’ve ever had here in Chicago, or anywhere for that matter. Almost more of a focaccia.
Super fresh ingredients. Everything we had was amazing.
Cannot recommend this place enough.
Be aware that the dough is made in small batches so you the number of pizzas you can order at once is limited.
!! Would highly recommend ordering a few days in advance.

No doubt the pizza is awesome. Crust is somewhat crunchy while the middle is soft and chewy (but not gummy). The cheese portion was just right. Would have liked a little more sauce but that’s just my preference. I would like to note that after not receiving my entire order (1 brownie short) it took an initial phone call - sorry I’m busy I’ll see if we can refund it, a voicemail and another phone call. The whole time I was trying to find out about the refund, I could hear someone in the background, I believe the owner, being very rude in how he spoke. Shame he was such an a** cause now I’m totally turned off of this place.
Update: After a week I have still not received my refund for missing order item. This only confirms my original thought that this guy, possibly owner, is truly an a**. For those of you who think this is “much ado about nothing “ you may be right but then again it’s about the principle of the matter and the horrible customer service.
Update #2: Received my refund yesterday. Final thoughts - better late than never.
PS - tried the cheese pizza at Lou Malnati’s Evanston on Friday. It was a huge disappointment after eating George’s.
