This has to be some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I’m about to say this but they’ve got Texas and North Carolina beat. The sliced brisket is very good, the pastrami is to die for and the sides are outstanding

Best BBQ in town!
Fulton Market provides you with a lot of high class restaurants, even with Michelin stars…but you mustn’t miss out on this honest and real BBQ!
Green Street Smoked Meets has an amazing atmosphere. When you enter, it fells like kind of it’s own world. Romantic and rough, cold (beer) and hot (meat). Impossible to not enjoy it!

I've been all over the South and have sampled lots of BBQs. I can honestly say that this place is right up there with the best of the best.
The brisket is tender enough that it cuts with a fork. Sauces are tasty and they have a full bar.
Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor dining.

Excellent meats and plenty of sides to choose from. The brisket is amazing. There was a lineup at dinner time to order but it was worth the wait. Sitting outside on the alley is a great way to enjoy the meat as well. A little pricey

Great meal. The food is excellent. The sandwiches were so big and wonderfully tasty. Service was also excellent. All staff members were helpful and friendly.
Yes there is a wait, but the line moves fast. Great outdoor seating.

Meat lovers, gather here!
We had the beef ribs - really tender and one of the best that I have had. Slice brisket was excellent and I could hardly finish the pork ribs. Well worth it. Not the cheapest but for such great meats, no issues for the price point. Highly recommended.

I couldn't help but smile while I was there. It is one of the restaurants that has a magical feel while you're in it. Maybe it's because it is meat in a city known for meatpacking (I just finished Upton Sinclair's The Jungle) or the place truly is special. Either way, GSSM is the place to go. Phenomenal brisket and the best chicken legs I've ever had. Of course, it's pricey, but it is well worth it. If I'm back in the area again, I want to be at Green Street Smoked Meats

This is a very nice place located in the Market District. It’s a warehouse converted into a restaurant. I had the Wild Child, which is a brisket/pulled pork sandwich. It was very filling. The baked beans were good and the sweet tea was sweet like it’s supposed to be! Loved the low lighted atmosphere in the restaurant. Good place if you like meats! They also have sauces available in Sweet, Gold , and spicy.

So this is my 1st time here! Very cool side entrance with outdoor seating. Brisket was probably the best I have ever had, doesn't even need bbq sauce. The Brisket chili is a little spicy but really flavor full and full of meat. Smoked chicken not as smoked as I like it but still spiced well. Overall definitely will come again!

Love this place! Everything was great. My favorite was the creamy elote and the brisket. We tried a little bit of everything. Pastrami, brisket, pulled pork, jalapeno hot link, elote, cornbread with their honey butter, spicy pickles, brisket chili, and the banana pudding (not pictured). The meat was very tender and well seasoned. We explained it was our first time here and the guy working the counter was extremely helpful. Asked what we usually liked and was able to give us recommendations. Everything that was spicy, wasn't overly spicy. It was just right. The spice didn't overpower the flavor of the meats.

Had a hard time finding the entrance - just a small uninviting door on the side. Came in with a recommendation from YouTube :) wow. Did not expect to get something like that. Meat was amazing (and on the expensive good quality side) thou I realized that I got a double portion too late. The place itself is dark, moody, and the smell of smoked meat is unique. A lot of people came in after me and the queue was getting bigger and bigger with each minute. Definitely worth to come inn and enjoy. Meat was a bit too much salted (maybe it should be like that dunno, still I enjoyed every bite). People working here were friendly, so I had a few drinks at the bar also. Good selection of draft beers and cocktails got me in the right mood.

Great place for smoked BBQ meats, with a fun vibe. We loved the meats and sides we got to try, especially the ribs! Brisket was also pretty fantastic. Despite hearing so much about the fritos pie, it is essentially nachos, and was the least impressive part of the meal... Personally I would stick to other sides. Still, wonderful place for dinner!

A fantastic place for smoked meats. The brisket is outstanding and served in large portions. The cornbread is amazing. It's a fun and casual atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. It's a little hard to find but it's worth the effort, for sure.

The vibe here is great, very southern and there's no way to go wrong on the menu. Beef ribs run out early in the evening but they're worth an earlier arrival. Drinks are....okay, if you're thinking of a cocktail. If a beer is up your alley there's plenty on tap.
Best tip: Go for the pastrami.

A very unique atmosphere. Definitely a place to visit. The food quality was absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the top BBQ restaurants in Chicago land area.
There is also a coffee shop in there which is really cool! A coffee shop inside a smoke house!
The restrooms were super clean and again very unique looking.
