GT Prime should be an example to other restaurants for atmosphere, interior design, service and food! Super modern design with gigantic pictures of food on the walls, lights are perfect. Service, from hostess to server is very polite and proffessional. I waited few years to try Tartare, and I thought GT was great choice. It came with mustard seeds, egg yolk and mustard, with some veggies and chips, It was different than anything I tried in my life, it was prepared good, I loved that I tried it, but I'm not a huge fan of it... Presentation was nice too, except the chips, that kind of looked totally wrong on the plate, but it went good eating with tartare.. Roasted scallop was other appetizer we had, beautiful presentation and great taste. For entree we had bolognese and Wagyu ranch ribeye! All the decorations are on another level in GT, plates have design and steak knives that comes with steak are so unique, heavy and gorgeous shape. Steak had amazing crust, seasoned perfectly and temperature as requested. Asparagus was perfect sidedish, but for me best thing is Mac n Cheese, I don't have it often, but the mac n cheese was so rich and thick, I have no words to describe it, I ended up eating mac n cheese till the end, and I had some steak left for to go, since we ordered more than needed. Lobster on mac n cheese was extra money, but honestly it wasn't really needed. For dessert we had Royale Sundae, which was waffles with like 7 scoops of Ice cream, also very interesting presentation and good chocolate flavor. Bar section is also unique, plenty of bottles, vibes are like you are in some movie.. I've been to many steakhouses around Chi, but after going once to GT, it became one of my favorites. I can't wait to go back!!

Wow is my response to everything about this restaurant. They checked off everything on the list of how a restaurant experience should be, and was well worth the price. The ambience was amazing, I loved the dark colors. I'm always for a low light edgy restaurant. The customer service was top tier. From the hostess to the wait staff. The food was amazing. The food was very well cooked and seasoned. This is a great spot for any occasion. I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and he loved it.

Loved watching the grill masters perfectly prep this juicy ribeye! It was perfect with the Old Fashioned. Best table/bar side service. A light and friendly atmosphere and engagement from all staff. Truly a must go.

GT Prime Steakhouse has nice ambiance and dim lighting for an intimate evening in Chicago. For dinner, I had the Baby Romaine Caesar, Verlasso Salmon, and Sundae Royale. The Caesar salad was slightly over dressed and a bit too salty for my liking. The Salmon entree was delicious. The dessert was good but would’ve been better if the waffle was a little softer. Overall, I had a nice experience but I would probably order different things next time.

My wife brought me here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The vibe was great and the service was top notch. The steak was cooked to perfection and dessert was the icing on the cake. We’ll definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this place.

Nice ambiance, good cocktail/wine selection. I'd recommend "The Carnivore" featuring four different types of steak to share with the table.

What a fabulous place for a night with the girls. The food was phenomenal! Also Diego and Ricky who work the meat grill area, were so nice and fun! Also, Jenny was such an amazing person to have met. This place is 100% recommended

So me and my family went to this restaurant on our last night in Chicago back in September a couple months ago and I really liked the restaurant. It looked really nice inside and the service was pretty good as well. For dinner I got a ribeye steak(don’t quite remember the name of it) with lobster Mac n cheese which was delicious. For dessert I got the sundae royal which was really delicious. Overall I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place to eat in downtown chicago

A top tier steakhouse with exceptional service and creative interpretations of steak house classics. Leave room for the (very generous) desserts.

Fantastic experience! Food was really great! We had the tomato, crab salad, filet with bleu cheese topping, Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese side and tagliatelle pasta with winter truffles. Highly recommend truffle pasta!! They gave us complimentary cake because we were celebrating our anniversary m. Custom happy anniversary menu was a great touch as well! It is pricey but worth it for the quality and great for a celebratory dinner! 2 people cost $250

Forget everything you ever thought you knew about a steakhouse. Strip away your preconceived anticipations.
Enter GT Prime prepared for a dining experience like no other steakhouse you've stumbled into, certainly not in Chicago (dare I say the entire country?).
When given the chance to fly, Giuseppe Tentori soars, and he takes you with him on his gustatory sojourn.
After entering into one oversized black door, you escape the hustle and bustle of the busy and touristy river north area of the city, and you are now a part of the "who's who" of Chicago.
There is one overall feeling post check-in: opulence.
Out of all the restaurants in Chicago I have visited thus far in my 2 years of living in the city, I have yet to find a more impeccably designed dining room. In truth, I do believe I stopped breathing for about 30 seconds as I took note of the silver/gold decorative fixtures inundating the space, the fur/velvet/leather seat coverings, the taxidermy of somewhat exotic animals, and the artwork.
Every single detail - from the light fixtures (dimly lit), to the tableware, down to the carpeting - was carefully and expertly chosen. Thus, illustrating the grandiose vibe of the traditional steakhouse, yet bringing an indelible feeling of modern "glam" to each room of the restaurant.
The wait staff, in conjunction with the aesthetic of the room, were equally styled in a chic manner: all black, tasteful jewelry, pumps for the hostesses, and dress shoes for the wait staff.
Visiting for a special occasion - as I did - is certainly the best reason to visit GT Prime. I treated myself to the meal for my 25th birthday, and upon entry, both hostesses were sure to familiarize themselves with my name and occasion and wished me a happy birthday and thanked me for choosing GTP to help me celebrate my nameday, before escorting me to my seat.
What shocked me even more, was when my waiter, other wait staff, the GM, and the lead bartender all stopped by throughout the meal to wish me a happy birthday (with a complimentary glass of champagne). I can't begin to describe how honored I felt to have received this level of customer service.
And as if that didn't wow me enough, the food shook me more so than the other components. I ordered a feast for one, three small plates, one entree, and one dessert.
The first dish that arrived was the bigoli pasta, which was delicious: the pasta was fresh and the perfect al dente, and the Bolognese sauce was elevated by including 3 meats (beef, pork, and veal heart). It had a minor kick in the after thought which was incredible.
The next two small plates arrived (my two favorite vegetables): brussels sprouts with maple butter, 5j jamón ibérico, and long peppercorn & the maitake mushrooms with brie and honeycomb. I have never in my life had better brussels sprouts, nor mushrooms and to this day (months after my visit) I get chills thinking about how these ingredient selections upgraded these vegetables - a thrill to consume.
For my meat, I opted for the 8oz beef strip loin prepared medium rare. This was not the best steak I've ever had (truthfully), which was a major bummer, however I did enjoy it. The various salts provided added different flavor profiles which was a cool addition.
Finally, to end my birthday feast, I chose the meyer lemon creme brulee with lemon marmalade, blueberry, and meringue. I do believe I was silent throughout this course (it was that delicious). I also loved that they had dusted "happy birthday" on the plate (not on the dish) in some sort of sweet powder. Again, the small details mean the most in a city congested with restaurants.
I came for a one-of-a-kind experience and that is what I paid for and received. Once again, Boka Restaurant Group won me over, and I am so glad this experience at Chef Tentori's restaurant was galaxies better than my experience at GT Fish and Oyster.
