Absolutely our favorite restaurant when we are here for business every six months! The mozzarella is SO yummy. I haven’t met a dish on the menu I didn’t love, especially the steaks. We love our waiter, Steve, who we request every time we are here. He will tell you all about the history of the building, which is always a fun addition to a nostalgic night.

We dined at Harry Carey’s on August 11. We sat at the bar so we could watch the Field of Dreams baseball game. Interestingly enough, I had been inside Harry Carey’s the day before as I had taken the Chicago Gangster Crime tour and this restaurant (and the basement safe/hidden passageway) was on the tour as a stop. Firstly, there is a ton of history in this building. Loaded with great photos and news clippings. I could have spent two hours just looking at all that stuff alone. So over to dinner. We were greeted immediately at the bar by our bartender. Ordered our drinks and delivered within minutes. We were then handed a basket of homemade fresh cut potatoe chips lightly salted by which we devoured. So yummy. We shared a 14 oz strip loin steak, a wedge salad and grilled asparagus - served with complimentary buns and butter. Salad was fresh light and crisp with delicious dressing. The steak served perfectly (medium) and hot, as were the asparagus. We were too full for dessert so we took a tiramisu to go - eaten by my hubby who said it was the best he’s ever had with a slight hint of booze (not overpowering). I would highly recommend. If it wasn’t for the Gangster Crime Tour I would not have even considered this restaurant (I had checked out the menu the day before and all the servers were super friendly and welcoming). I believe they have a large private space upstairs too for large groups as both days there were large events. Also, all servers are male professionals who clearly take their roles seriously and work incredibly well as a team. Different people brought the food, the buns and cleaned up promptly. The level of professionalism was impressive. Again - these gents take great pride in what they do and do it very well.

The steak was delicious. Prices were a bit high for what you got. The server was great and helpful, but did get distracted with a large group for half the service. Good food and a nice spot to visit for the history.

UPDATED May 25,2022: Frank took great care of us tonight @ the bar. Our dinner was perfect! A seriously professional establishment with a vibe that harkens back to a time "long before Covid". Our dinner and drinks were top notch, our server was beyond attentive (in a good way) and just the excitement in the room made for a memorable evening. Harry's is one of those places you can come back too time and again, and NEVER get bored. They could use the name to their advantage and rest on their laurels BUT they don't, they treat the name, Harry Caray's with the utmost respect and it shows. Thank you for a wonderful evening, we shall return!

Ambience - it’s a great place to go out and have a drink at the bar and then enjoy a fine dining experience of a steak house.
Appetizers - loved the calamari and meat balls. The ravioli was my personal fav. Absolutely delicious.
Entrée - The salmon is delicious along with the bone in steak. The chicken breast was a bit dry.
Desserts - Key lime pie is a winner but the tiramisu is delicious as well.

Started with the calamari for an appetizer. The breading was light and flavorful. Didn't even need the marinara sauce. The steak was cooked a little more than the rare I requested but still ok.
The space has lot of baseball memorabilia. The coolest part though, was the history of the building and the hidden hidey hole in the basement from Chicago's mob days.

Well decorated with unique memorabilia as soon as you walk in the doors. Staff was able to accommodate us without having a reservation. Waitstaff were all very experienced and made the dining experience very pleasant. Portions were large and prepared in a timely manner. Overall a nice dining experience.

While a bit "touristy" this place was phenomenal. We were seated right away on a March Madness Sunday in the bar area at 4:30 so no complaints there. The food was great, our server was super friendly and nice even with how swamped she was (maybe 2-3 servers for the entire bar area), and the decor was really neat. There's tons of celebrity photos and sports memorabilia on the main floor and in the basement tons of memorabilia and information about the Mob's history of the building and all of Chicago. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone, local or not.
They have a comprehensive Gluten Free menu as well and my wife had no issues with the Gluten Free pasta.

I had the opportunity to eat here while on a trip. Everything was amazing. The history and atmosphere were great to learn. The menu is vast with a great range of appetizers, salads, pasta dishes, and steak. With it being a steak house I had to try the Kansas City Cut. Which I had never heard of before. It was a great cut. The steak was cooked to perfection medium rare. One downside is the sides were not included, but I was able to try the Brussel sprouts and mashed potato which were amazing. I would say it is a great place, lots of history, if you have a chance it is worth it.
