We placed an order a few days ahead so we were able to get one before they sold out. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the pickup time due to airport delays and by the time we called to ask if they could delay the cooking, it was too late.. it was already in the oven (sad). So we picked up the pizza about an hour after it had finished cooking.
The toppings tasted nice and fresh and we could see the potential of the pizza. But once you sliced into it, the cheese cooled off and it was just bread, thick layer of cheese, and sauce like a sandwich.
When we were able to warm it up so the cheese was meltier, it was a bit better.
Maybe deep dish isn’t for us..
Update: Robert, the owner, kindly reached out and refunded the order. I had no expectation of this but just from this experience, it was worth changing the review. Give the pizza a chance despite our opinions and see if you like it!

WOW! Without a doubt THE BEST PIZZA we’ve ever had in Chicago….Every single bite was packed with flavors and you could just see, smell and taste the freshness. All the ingredients were distributed evenly so the flavors were balanced. The crust is HEAVENLY delicious! If you want this delicious pizza you must order it ahead of time because they only make certain amount of pizza per day (in another word everything is fresh and sold daily!) They also offer great costumer service! 10/10

OMG!!! I had the latest creation at Milly's Pizza In The Pan, the "Tripping Billy".
It's a white pizza, no red sause, that was cheesy and creamy and full of love over Milly's fluffy and caramelized cheese crust. Filled with veggies I never had in a pan pizza. Again, OMG!!!
To top off all that goodness, each pizza sold helped benfit research to end MDA .
It was so good, we had to have a slice before taking a picture.

Not just one of the best NEW Chicago pizzerias, one of the best Chicago pizzerias— PERIOD! If you like Pequod‘s, I think you will love this: crispy frico, then delicious chew, and then the incredible juxtaposition of delicious sauce and often fresh crunchy vegetables… it’s pure bliss!

One of the better pizza places in Chicago no question. Worth the drive. Very fresh deep dish style the sauce was incredible. Well done. I'll be back. Photo is of all sausage half pepperoni.

Incredible pizza. Not your standard deep dish, but in a good way. Great airy dough with a crispy buttery/caramelized cheese crust and really premium sauce and toppings. All the veggies used were of great quality and fresh and you can taste the difference!! Highly recommend :)

Absolutely spectacular pizza. I’ve been reading about it for what feels like months and tonight we finally reserved one - it lives up to the hype. Really good sauce, really fresh ingredients, great texture and flavors. Just delicious. We were fighting over the crust. Definitely give it a try, it’s delightful 11/10

Generally, I’m not one to leave a review. Also, I’m generally not seeking pan pizza when I’m having a pizza craving. But the buzz about Milly’s had me curious. Living within an actual stones throw from their front door, I’ve habitually seen a sign stating “Sold out of pizza today.” I finally planned ahead, preordered a pie, and picked it up. Not only was the pie I ordered, the Que Suerte, visually stunning it was exquisitely delicious as well! Can’t wait to try others! If you’re like me and generally avoid pan pizza I would highly recommend you rethink your pizza preferences.

I've ordered twice from Milly's and have been quite impressed with this pizza. It's thick, rich, and so flavorful. You have to order ahead because there's a limited number of pizza's made each night. And, when they are gone, that's it.

Best Deep dish in Uptown if not the ENTIRE city. Crust is superb and ingredients are fresh. This is going to be my regular spot for sure. Make sure to pre-order your dough. They do sell out!

Just fantastic pizza. Every ingredient is perfect, the sauce is just sweet enough, the toppings are big and beautiful, and the crust … my goodness. You can see the owner carefully handcrafting each piece when you go in to pick yours up. Great job all around

LOVED their pizza! One of my new favorites. I ordered ahead and it was ready to go when I arrived with tables to eat at on the spot. The service was super friendly and accommodating as well! So good.

This is an incredible pizza. The crust is light despite how thick it is and the rim of cheese takes what pequods does and applies precision and better flavor. The sauce, which there is a lot of, is over the cheese which prevents it from making the crust soggy. I think this should be done on all pizza. My one issue, which is not even close to detracting a star, is that the topping combinations curated by the place on all of the named pizzas are, imo, extremely excessive and non harmoniously composed. I found this pretty surprising given the extreme skill and care evident in the pizza. When I get another pizza from here I will build my own with far fewer selections. Amazing pizza nonetheless.

Just picked up the Untitled. Made a pick up reservation and it was ready when I arrived! Walked it to a friend’s who is a pizza connoisseur. It was so delicious! The star was the crust. Whatever recipe used should be put in a museum. My new favorite crust in the city.
I really enjoyed the cheese selection and the fact the pepperonis were on top (there were so many, too!).
Highly recommend for those wanting to support a new local spot. Will def be going back.

We ordered Milly's to go and it was fantastic! If you love Pequod's or Burt's Pizza, you will also love Milly's. The crust is extremely crunchy and the caramelization around the edges are the cheesiest I've ever had. The ingredients were very fresh - the peppadew peppers on the Craigslist pizza were great as were the toy box tomatoes. We also loved the crispy pepperoni on the Untitled #1 pizza. We also drove in from the suburbs to pick this up and it was well worth the trip!

DELICIOUS Pan style pizza that to me is a competitor to more well known Chicago pizza places. The updog is my favorite, those cubanelle peppers! Entrance is off the parking lot, not the street, with just a tiny sign that shows its not a closed or abandoned building. Highly recommend!!

Glorious pan-style pizza with excellent fresh toppings. That crispy cheesy crust is like no other. A faithful homage to Burt Katz.

So..at first I was having doubts about this place because it was dark out and I couldn't find the place. Finally I noticed a small sign with Milly's printed on it and the building looks like an old factory. Once I realized I had the right place everything went smoothly. Promptly got my food and wow o wow. This pizza not only looked amazing but it tasted incredible. Soo fresh and flavorful. Definitely one of the better pizzas I've had.

Yeah this place was pretty good and I would say lived up to the hype. Loved the crust. Different kind of deep dish since there was more bread then sauce but still fire. The pizza legit looked so good when we opened it. A bit hard to find for pick up but you’ll figure it out!

This is the best pizza I’ve had in years. The caramelized crust is unbeatable and the ratio of sauce/cheese/toppings/crust is perfect. Not quite deep dish, not quite Detroit style, this is its own thing and it is executed perfectly. I’m already looking forward to the next time I’m in Chicago so I can order more!
