I swear they do Detroit deep dish better than Detroit. Tall cheesy crust with the beautiful cup and char pepperonis. The sauce has such a nice balance that's light and sweet. The dough is nice fluffy. Probably one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time.
The nutter butter cake. I don't even have words for it. Just get it if they have it.
11/10 would eat here twice in the same week.
Edit: I'm adding more to this review because I think this place deserves more credit.
Please don't stop buying these magnificent cakes from Pie, Pie My Darling. These are some top tier desserts.
Even if you have leftovers of this pizza it retains the delicious gooey look the next day.
Now if only they offered a Detroit slice to go ????

The pizza was delicious, and the server was very attentive. I recommend the US Pizza Cup Winner! The soft drinks were all bottled or canned, so their price was a bit steep considering no refills. The pizza is worth the price though.

Stopped here as part of a pizza tour. The Detroit style pizza was the single best pizza I have ever had! Drizzled with spicy honey, fresh tomatoes, crispy pepperoni's and the crust could be sold in a bakery. Worth a trip out of your way. Can't wait to go back.

Detroit style pizza very good, thin pizza was good, but feel burned taste. Salad with gorgonzola and pear need more interesting sauce.

A gem in Chicago where you can get some amazing artisan pizza as well as a traditional deep dish. The Vodka sauce pizza is simply amazing! In addition to the excellent pizza, the staff is simply amazing. It was a spectacular dinner and now my "Go To" for pizza in Chicago!

YIKES! Was hopeful on this place because they had Detroit style. Got one Detroit style and one wood fired specialty pizzas. The Detroit was passable, no where close to the best I’ve had, but good. However, the wood fired was inedible and uncut.. surely it was just a mistake, but when you combine the horrible crust with a worse presentation, not cutting the pizza is just the icing on the cake.
Salad was good and order was complete and timely, though not inexpensive.

the pizza is awesome and a good change of pace. love the Detroit style here as it is exactly the way it is supposed to be. nice focaccia bread with the great char and crispness where it is supposed to be. the have some variety so you have options. FYI, if dining in, do not invite your friend who is always late. They will not seat you until EVERYONE is there. The bar menu is okay. The pizza is the star.

Got the gluten free Paulie's Pepperoni for takeout. You might as well save yourself the money and just buy a loaf of bread. The pizza has the volume of a deep dish with none of the toppings. Be prepared to eat 98% dough. Though, the crust on it was pretty good. Overall, however, it was mostly a large piece of bread.

The best pizza I've ever had. Let me start by saying I don't care for pizza. I grew up in IL and even traveled to Italy and the pizza here beats it by 100%. Detroit style is the best. Also, don't skip on dessert. Pie Pie My Darling kills it with these cake slices!
My partner and I go here probably once a week. Staff is friendly always; never a bad time.

The pizza is good. The crust is standard good. It’s not crispy and it’s not soggy.
Tasty sausage and tasty parmigianno Reggiano cheese.
I didn’t like that the QR code menu asks for your phone number and name. And there are no physical menus. I almost didn’t bring my phone.
20% tip is automatically applied, but there’s a note on the table about that.
Big place, quiet on a Sunday evening.
Friendly but slow service.

Staff were all very kind, especially the folks making the pizzas. They have glass but you can see into the kitchen. We were seated right there and they were doing silly things with a dough-round to entertain the little kid I was with. Food was great, especially the Prohibited Pepperoni Detroit-style. Lovely crispy edge.

Their Detroit style pizza is amazing. I see why it’s a US Pizza Cup winner. The hot honey add a great flavor to the pizza.

Went for a late night Friday dinner with my boyfriend and this place did not disappoint. Our hostess, server, and even the bartender were SUPER cheerful and recommended some great options. I had a margarita and the vegan Fast Car which was DELICIOUS! I loved the ricotta dollops. The taste was so decadent! I just wish the cheese was warm as it was served cold. However, the flavors and the crust were amazing! Probably some of the best thin crust pizza I’ve had in Chicago. My boyfriend had the Detroit style pepperoni pizza and literally gobbled down the whole thing! He can’t wait to come back! Date night approved and excited to visit another time.

Visited Paulie Gee’s on a very busy Saturday evening but the staff was professional, collected and so accommodating! The Detroit style pizza with bacon jam is a good option for anyone who embraces a variety of textures and flavours in a dish. The Paulie Cheese pizza (pictured here too) is a really great take on the four-cheese pizza, love that it has parmigiano reggiano!

I'm Italian and I was surprised by their wood-fired pizza. I highly recommend it. Go and taste it. Good job, guys!

The US pizza cup winner (I think that’s what it’s called?) is incredible, really rich in texture and the honey gives it a surprisingly sweet and smooth texture. Very lovely.
I will say though - this place makes it a little difficult for takeout. Would’ve loved to place an order over the phone so I could ask questions about the menu, and some of these apps like Grubhub make it confusing enough to the point where not the entire menu appears to be available.

They don't take reservations but easily found seating on a weeknight. Not the best pizza I've had but we werent here because of all the vegetarian and vegan options. The detroit style pizza was alright, as was the rabbit pie. I wasn't a fan of their vegan ricotta

Best pizza I had in a very, very long time. As a Chicago native, I was introduced to Detroit style pizzas a few years ago. I was looking for a restaurant and Paulie’s caught my eye. The menu is innovative, fresh, and wood fired in house.
My son and I were seated right next to the open kitchen and he was really excited to see the pizzas being made. In addition, the owner Derrick personally stopped by and made us feel so welcome. I noticed he did the same for other guests. There were a number of other families there as well with children. Definitely a neighborhood vibe which I truly cherish.
The QR Code is available on the tables and you can order and tip your server all on your own phone which is super efficient. You can leave after dining without having to wait to pay!
I ordered the US Pizza Cup Winner and OMFG. I literally ate every bite INCLUDING the crispy and chewy crust. I usually never finish the crust because I have never come across a delicious crust. This particular dough rised so well that each layer of the bubble synced perfectly with the crispy cheese, which led to a very pleased palette. My son and I were nodding to each other in blissfulness. I saved the rest to enjoy later that evening. I devoured it again and it was no hassle to reheat in my microwave oven. All the ingredients complimented one another that I almost felt guilty adding crushed red peppers. It is no wonder that the US Pizza Cup Winner won the contest in 2018!!!
After dinner, my son and I enjoyed their Vegan cake. For a dairy lover, I was so impressed with how moist the cake was. I ate half there and the other half later at home.
I will definitely be returning! Thank you so much Derrick and team!

Great pizza, tried both styles they had and both were absolutely delicious. The Daniela spinaci was light and flavorful definitely my favorite of the two I tasted but they were both good. Good service and cool vibe, I like how you can see them making the pizza right in front of you
