These people have been trying to rob the community since they opened. The food is not good quality, they have a small kitchen so what makes you think anything there is fresh. Just cause you try to present something that looks nice doesn't mean it should cost more. Real Mexican food is not found in gentrified places though non hispanic people would still pay for it. As a true native Mexican this is a slap to the Santa Maria and God. Don't waste your time and money when there's better food with Mexican street vendors with Quality food.

On 9/6/22 I purchased 8 tacos de Asada and 3 Jarritos for a total of $43.00 Which for me, food is expensive and with no flavor at all. The food is WAY TO OVERPRICED!!!!! The tacos were very bland, no flavor whatsoever. The meat tasted like it was expired (Which is definitely why it tasted disgusting)????????????. The lack of commitment for the customer was seen with my order. The salsas were so bland it looked exactly like water no taste or salt at all. This will be the last time I ordered from this so-called "Mexican" place. If any of you want to experienced food poisoning than be my guest and eat at this place.????????????????♀️

As you can see, food was excellent. Drinks were great, nice and strong. The only issue I had was the service. It started out okay when our waiter (terrible) let us change tables outside and brought out our water and menus. After that, downhill...we ordered our drinks and appetizers, empanadas & guacamole. The couple next to us came and sat about 10 min after we arrived and ordered enpanadas. Their waiter brought out their empanadas 5 minutes later while we dis not receive ours, only our guacamole. That waiter came back 1 a minute later and apologized for the error but our waiter NEVER came out again, just kept passing us by to attend a party of six and another couple sitting on the other side ( 4 tables outside btw). I hate to say it like this, but he seemed more preoccupied with the Caucasians than with us (Hispanics). He finally asked if we were ready, and we went ahead and ordered our food. Food came out in a timely manner but after that, out waiter NEVER came back around to asked if we were okay or if we wanted another drink. Remember, restaurants that serve liquor is where they make their money. My wife and I ordered $15 margaritas each while the patrons outside had just regular water or non alcoholic drinks but were being attended to with the utmost importance. I only saw great reviews on Tik tok but mind you, most of the reviews were not Hispanic customers. Very disappointing being that the we actually enjoyed the food and especially the drinks. I'm a big tipper, but this guy didn't deserve a good one and my tip reflected that on a $110 dinner. Also left a a note on the check so the manager can see our dissatisfaction. BUT, my wife and I spoke on the way home and said we actually would go back but hopefully can get another waiter next time and that is why 3 stars ONLY.

BEST mole I've had since moving to Illinois from Southern California about 15 years ago. Prices are very reasonable and the taste is authentic and AMAZING!!! Highly recommended!!!

3 picky kids and 2 picky parents loved the chips and salsa, all very happy with our tacos, burritos, and molcajete. Margarita was average to above average with a generous pour. Very nice staff. Will definitely go back.

Great food, fun & friendly vibe! We got guacamole, tacos, tamales, flan and churros- all excellent! Good, strong margaritas, recommend the mezcal margarita. Service was great- friendly, helpful, and attentive. Don’t get the ceviche. Otherwise we loved our experience and will definitely be back

Best tacos in town! You must get the chicken mole a taco. The taco dinner is worth its price to get rice and beans and three tacos.
*Update March 2022
This place has become my new neighborhood go too over the years. Tacos are still the best in the whole city hands down. Empanadas are soooo good. Tamales and elote is my girlfriend's favorite items. Also splurging on the carne asada plates is definitely worth it soooo much food.
Drink wise they are priced like any other drink in Chicago. They look small at first but once you drink them you realize it's a lot!! And they are pretty strong. My favorites are the Pink Cadillac and the Mezcal Margarita. (Both are on the rocks I can't drink frozen margs due to health reason)
The Plantain Desert is super super good as well.
The service is out of this world as always. Every staff member is super kind and nice.
And they do have three tables outside. Closed on Mondays. Open for lunch and dinner.

This was my first time here. This is a small but cozy place. I tried their steak burrito and their mango water. They were both just as tasty. They service was great. The decor consists of images of influential Mexican Icons. I will return to enjoy other plates in the near future and give them their 5 Stars if they promise to straighten out the large lotteria card hanging on the wall. ;)
