I used to love going to the old plank but as others have mentioned, the pandemic really dragged them down. They never went back to mix n match tacos and took the brisket and chicken tacos off the menu (my personal favorites). I hadn’t been there for a while and got takeout with a friend - decided to see if the chicken tenders were anything like the chicken tacos tenders especially since they came with the jalapeño ranch. So disappointed with what was my favorite sauce there now seems to be the kind that comes in a tub. At least the chips and guac are still good. I hope they get things turned around.

This was our favorite restaurant to go to before the pandemic (loved our weekly taco Tuesdays) and we frequently ordered them for takeout when they were open after the shutdown. Within the last few months, service has gone down significantly. We have placed multiple pickup orders and every time have had to call 15 minutes after the order has been placed, since they haven’t accepted it through chow now. Every time, they say “oh sorry, I’ll put it in now.” If they are unable to keep up with online ordering services, they shouldn’t offer them as an option. While I used to rave about this restaurant (and all their taco options - really miss the fried avocado and fried portobello tacos) and would make sure anyone visiting us went here, I can no longer recommend this establishment.

I loved the open design of this restaurant. All staff was friendly and helpful. I had a chicken torta and it was very good! My Mango margarita was strong, didn't taste a lot like Mango, but I still enjoyed it.

I don’t have a long list of restaurants I go to more than once since there are over 7000 restaurants in Chicago, the third largest city in America. Yet The Old Plank is not only on my repeat list, but in my “I highly recommend you go there” list. I’ve recommended it to visitors, friends looking for a good first date spot, and I’ve eaten here both when I was a meat eater and now as a vegetarian. If you’re wondering where to get some good bites in Logan, check this place out.
I am finally rating this place because my takeout order on 4th of July was too delicious to not rave about. Thank you!

Had lunch and drinks - quality of both were excellent. Bartender that served me was a breath of fresh air.

Staff are nice and helpful, however they are overworked and understaffed. This causes a long delay in getting ordered items.
*Updated Review* Came back a few weeks later, needed to process some work stuff and was wanting to give this place another chance. Stopped in, ordered a drink and then got a sandwich recommendation by Arturo. The drink was good, a little sweet for me but the sandwich was great, could of used a smidge more spice for a little kick, maybe a little scotch bonnet infused aioli instead of the jalapeno? The chicken was juicy and the batter was nice and crunchy. I was disappointed in the fries though. They were cold when I first got them, had them refried but ended up tasting stale/old, and powdery. Thinking improperly cooked or wrong potato used. Polished most of them off anyway.

Sat at the bar on a marg Monday and was taken care of! Both bartenders were friendly and attentive. Learned about $7 quesadillas and glad to know taco Tuesday is back. The margaritas were great! We will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend

Late in reviewing the Old Plank. OP is a fun spot right on Milwaukee. They have a great row of garage windows that are great to sit at inside and enjoy some fresh air. I wouldn't necessarily ball them Tex Mex not sure exactly how to say. More Mexican fusion that is done very well. Their day specials are great. Margarita Mondays $7 margs. Taco Tuesday $2 Tacos Wings Wesnesdays $0.50 wings.
The flavors are great. Fajitas and smokey and the veggies have a great char on them. Burritos are huge. The brunch is wonderful. This is a fun place to come any day any reason.

Cool neighborhood spot and with good food and even better drinks. Just steps away from the Logan Square Blue Line stop. Makes for a great option for a visit after seeing a movie at the Logan theater, especially since they’re open late. Everyone here is super friendly, especially Cam who had some great suggestions for food since I’m vegan, and made us some delicious cocktails.

The brisket sandwich was pretty good, as were the fries. The menu is a little small and it seems to be a mix of Mexican and bbq, but with a sports bar vibe??
The fried ice cream isn't fried ice cream, it's cold solid ice cream with almost like corn flakes around it. I would have given this place a 4 star if not for the weird not fried ice cream.
Overall I'd go elsewear for better Mexican and better bbq.
The margarita was actually really good and the waiter was very nice.
