Big portions. Homemade fries. Staff was very nice - they mistook the type of side and then brought me the brought the ride one extra without any further cost.

Great diner, I only gave 4 stars because on our last visit, the service was slack. My friend was served and 10 minutes later I was still was waiting for my order. They apparently had a problem in the kitchen.
However great diner food. Generous helpings in the all American tradition.
Also on our last day the menu changed the prices. But it remains a great deal for your money. Try it. The decor is art deco very cool, with comfortable seating.

This place is a cool, old school, NY diner. Great vibes throughout. We've been twice and the food was great both times. We'll definitely be back for a quick bite!

This is our go-to diner before a movie. We sit in our favorite booth, chat & chow down. Food is decent. Service is quick. The cheese sticks are a great start. The salmon burger is pretty good too! According to my Bestie, the burger w/sautéed mushrooms & onions is delicious. If you're headed to the theater on 84th, or just in the area, stop in for a quick bite!

My third diner in this area and It's by far the best so far. Not only are the seating spacious enough so you're not all in your neighbor's plate, but the food was great. Ordered me a "Fritata" (i think that's the name but i could be wrong) but it's the omelet with the basil. Totally amazing!

Best comfort food on the UWS! Grilled cheese and tomato with bacon and french fries, worth every hit of cholesterol. Great salads and wraps for the virtuous. Sit as long as you like or have a meeting, no hassle. A little pricey but worth it.

Came here in 2004 with my kids. It's a typical new York city diner oozing period deco. Love it's vibe. Had a picture of my daughter when she was 10 eating a burger the size of her head and wanted to find first the place, which took a lot of searching, then finally some incredible luck, then found the same booth. Had a breakfast this time.
The staff were very attentive, as I remembered , and the food is tasty and very generous.
Would highly recommend this place to anyone. For that be old world charm. Hope it never changes.

As far as NYC diners go this is def one of the better ones. They do check your COVID vaccine card. The service is always fast and friendly and the food is always fresh. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and the breakfast here is fantastic! I love my well-done home fries and they are so yummy! Clean, friendly, and warm atmosphere. Will keep coming back!

Back in the days I used to hate on City Diner because they used to put mint leaves in their salad. Recently I went there and had their home made veggie burger and OMG it has snatched the crown of best west side veggie burger!! (And I've had a bunch) I am happily eating my words.
