A truly authentic and culturally significant landmark in the lower east side. Great sandwiches and delicious rice and beans. This is the epitome of comfort food.

Any time I have anyone in town we come straight here. Their smoothies and fresh juices (esp lemonade) are amazing, the mofongo is to die for (the sauce is amazing), and their dinner plates are huge and delicious!! One of the only places in the city I visit repeatedly and never get tired of. As a Dominican native, I recommend!

The fact that this type of restaurant is down in the this part of Manhattan is a blessing. If you want really good Dominican food without having to spend Lower Manhattan prices, this place is great. I recommend the Chicharrones de Pollo. They have an amazing breakfast selection too.

I usually go to their 2nd location on Grand St only because it's closer to me. To be honest, the only thing I've ever ordered are their Cuban sandwiches which are great. I decided to try their OG location on Rivington and I was not disappointed at all. Their Cuban sandwich had nice big piece of pickle and they did something a little different, they put it on a sesame bread, yum! Also I feel this location is a lot friendlier too.

really solid cuchifrito spot. all the food is perfectly seasoned and well balanced. unfortunately the beans were more like soupy bean water without many beans at all but besides that i would definitely return here. the guisado is very good

I need to apologize because I left a review to a different restaurant called el cibao and placed it in the wrong restaurant. I actually went today for the first time to this Puerto Rican restaurant and let me tell you I was blown away with the service, price and quality of the food!!! If you see my reviews I don’t hold back on my experience. They have red beans!!! Not no pink beans!!! The chicken was perfect and juicy not like these nearby restaurants that claim to be Puerto Rican food. The rice was cooked right and the maduros omg a bunch for 3.50 other places nearby give you burned and greasy ones for $10!!! I’m definitely making this my Puerto Rican restaurant and will recommend it to anyone that is looking for real Puerto Rican food. All this food for less than $10 wow.

Small place but so good! Similar to many of New Yorks most tastiest Restaurants it is definitely a small place that gets a whole lot of people dining in and taking out. Food was great, wait was a bit much but understandable with thy amount of staff and amount of consumers.

Also, amazing coffee and steam sandwich!!

A classic cozy Dominican restaurant. I've been getting food from this location for years. There's enough tables and seats by the counter if you choose to dine in. I usually take the food to go. I usually stick to their ready hot food section. Chicken, beef stew, rice and beans, chicken soup etc.the food here is pretty tasty and their prices are very reasonable. Never had an issue with the service here.

I have to give 4☆
The food was delicious, first time eating Dominican food, fresh food, tasty and I'm sure was traditional, the place was small but comfortable, however the ladie that served me was not good, service was not good, it was super dry. At the time when I paid I didnt left a tip and her reaction was kind off rude.
But food was good.
