While the place looked amazing the experience was awful. The service was rude, probably struggling with too many customers, but still disrespectful. The food was regular, definitely didn’t worth the price.

We felt very welcome in Hector's clean Cafe&Diner. Great location directly at the beginning of the high line. All staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and delicious. We will come again, thanks!

Service was terrible.(well our male waiter at least. The female one seemed pretty friedly.) Food was just ok. My burger didn't come w fries and it was $15. My friends roast beef sandwich was literally JUST A SINGLE LAYER of roast beef, club style sandwich on simple White bread but NOTHING else.(at least it came with fries.) This labels as a diner yet charges by the cup for coffee.

I went here with my girlfriend on a hungry whim and we enjoyed the environment. Everyone (working) in there was very nice and the food was a reasonable wait time away. The chicken gyro I got was tasty but the chicken was a little hard/dry and it seemed the food was warm if not room temp. I would totally go here again tho, I’d just get something else haha. The chicken tacos my girlfriend got were also good, only complaint was not enough salsa. I’d support this place more often if I lived in nyc

We had an excellent breakfast experience at Hector’s. Unbecoming on the outside, it is warm and cozy on the inside with a great coffee shop menu, friendly service, great food, and fair prices. I want to come back for dinner. My kinda place!

Listen, just gonna level with you, the food was good not great. My tacos were really good, but my wife's turkey club was a bit dry and bland. Don't care. The service was so good, I'd go back and order the turkey club. I wish I'd caught the server's name, but I didn't. He was a great ball of positive energy jumping from table to table making sure that everyone was taken care of. Not being from NYC myself his accent was great and I felt like dining in this diner was a real NYC experience. Go check it out for yourself, I'm confident you'll have a great experience like I did. Bonus points for the $1 homemade cookies that my kids loved.

Super super great. A friend and I visited NYC, needed to grab some food. Walked by this place and said screw it! What a good choice. Food was was perfect diner style, greasy, tasty, and filling. Dude who waited on us was the coolest and friendliest New-Yorker I had the pleasure of interacting with. Hit it up sometime!

Nice little diner for a quick bite to eat. I got the turkey club sandwich. Generous portion size but the turkey was slightly dry and the fries were not seasoned. Could easily put salt on the fries and season to my own taste so no biggie. Ketchup was also available.

Food was super delicious and hot. The waitress was very courteous and got the order right. This was our first time here and will surely not be the last.
