Beef better than pork here. Found the pork to be dry, but the beef ribs to be excellent. Bacon was not bad. Bar has small but excellent choices. Tons of outdoor seating. The live band made the experience so much better.

I was waiting until the day I would come to Hometown and boy was I not disappointed. The pictures don’t do it justice! The menu is large and has an option for almost anyone. Be sure to try the brisket and collard greens because those are the stars of the show. The wait is long, especially on the weekend, but it’s part of the fun. Can’t wait to come back and try more options!

This place was alright. I was disappointed that by the time we got to the line to order, they'd run out of certain food options. It definitely reminded me of a farmhouse bbq place, especially with the lighting. Some of the food was reasonably priced. But others, you have to steer clear of and not order at all. Still, pay a visit and have some nicely cooked BBQ.

Delicious food in a great neighborhood. It's not the easiest place to get to, but it's worth the trip! There's a queue to order food where they prepare some things immediately, then the server will bring out the rest. Separate queue for the bar. Meat is served by the half pound. We had brisket, Korean ribs, Vietnamese wings, and bacon, which were all delicious! The Mac n cheese was perfect. Also added a side of sweet honey-soaked corn bread which was phenomenal. If you're traveling to the area for this, be sure to also check out Key Lime Pie around the corner for dessert!

Really phenomenal BBQ, the best I’ve had since being in NYC. The meats and sides are absolutely amazing. It’s a really nice location too - a bit hard to reach from the city (45 min by ferry/subway), but it’s really nicely decorated with plenty of space. Wish they had more fans because it is HOT in the building, but would be fun to come at night when it is cooler out (and they have live music!).
The cornbread, pickles, and mac and cheese were delicious. The brisket was super juicy and I liked the turkey too. The ribs were a bit dry but still good. The line gets super long during the day (was about 30 minutes on a Saturday at 2pm) and I imagine it’s longer at night.
I will 100% come back here, had a great time and would highly recommend.

Came here around 6:30 and finally got to order at 8:30. The long wait here is pretty normal for hometown so that was expected. However, when you do order make sure they charge your for the right amount that you ordered. I ordered 3 lb of brisket but got charged for 3.5 lb.
The brisket here is pretty good. They cut you nice thick cuts that are very juicy. If I come back I'd definitely be getting more of those. The ribs we got were pretty lukewarm and pretty tough to eat honestly(especially the end piece they gave to us). The smokey taste was definitely there though but overall I think they can be better. We got a bunch of other sides that seemed pretty average. I liked the Italian sausage but wish they had more snap to them since they seemed mostly soft. One other thing to note was how the corn bread was so dry and hard that it bent the plastic fork we used to eat.

The experience was good - with the music, outdoor tables and some nice staff. The food is disappointingly underwhelming. All the food was served cold. The brisket is forgettable without discernible smoky flavor or any flavor. The ribs were slightly better but mostly just salty. The chicken wings were at least spicy. The potato salad should be called/described as mashed potatoes since food is about texture not just flavor and it is mashed. The chili was a bit spicy but otherwise uninteresting. The corn bread is good and except for the way too sweet bacon in it the Bloody Mary is excellent. Wouldn’t spend the money again.

Great food! If you can, get the Korean pork ribs. You won’t be disappointed. Also really loved their pulled pork and brisket queso ????????. I’ve been wanting to come here for some time but never really make it out to Red Hook. Well, I’ll be going a lot more to Red Hook and especially to this restaurant. We got their at 7 and by 8:30 they were sold out of food and turning patrons away.

One of my favourite barbecue restaurants in the world. I was in NYC for a 6h layover and spent the whole time rushing here grabbing a bite then heading back to the airport. It is a fantastic brisket and amazing coleslaw. The sausage was a bit disappointing as it was not as “smooth” tasting. Pulled pork also brilliant. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I highly recommend going again. I do wish they sold their sauces in easier to transport containers, I don’t live in the US so bringing it with me would be a dream.
Highly, highly recommend.
