Food is fresh and delicious. Corn on the cob is a good choice as appetizer, it’s covered in cotija cheese. Enchilada with mole sauce is awesome. We really enjoyed the food. I highly recommend this place.

Great food and super reasonable. Tastes like you're eating in southern Cali. Literally tastes like a real deal home cooked meal. We love this place! If you haven't been here yet - you're missing out! Do yourself a favor and stop in. BYOB

I’ve been going to this restaurant for about a year. I am very picky about my Mexican food because it is my favorite type of food. This place is one of my favorites in the city! Their nachos are delicious, probably the best I’ve had in Philly, and I’ve been to them all. There is one type of cheese I always ask them to omit. It’s the cheddar nacho cheese that has a consistency sort of like whiz and I’m just not a fan of whiz. Other than that, they’re perfect. Their salads are delicious, and so are their burritos.

La Canasta has quickly become one of my go-to Mexican restaurants in South Philly. The food is great and is always prepared very quickly (for both dine in and takeout), prices are reasonable, and the employees are very kind. It's BYOB too, which is always a plus. They take cash and card and are open for lunch and dinner every day except Sunday. It has never been busy any of the times I've dined in or picked up takeout which has always stumped me because it's so good!

I order here at least once a week. Maybe embarrassed to say that there has definitely been a week that I’ve ordered three times. Great food, great family. 10 out of 10, would recommend again.

Love them! My bf and I get them at least once a week. I always get the gorditas and chicken soup and my bf gets the la canasta burger and fries. Their fries are so good and the chips and guacamole/pico de gallo are really good as well. Great neighborhood stop and they’re really nice!
