So many parts of the meal were over done and/or burnt and tasteless. My crab cakes were served burnt side down. My daughter's steak was ordered medium rare and was served quite well done.
In addition when my husband ordered his second NON-alcoholic beer, he was served an alcoholic beer. An honest mistake.
Below is a picture of the bottom
of the crab cakes in the take out box.
We did not complain because we were celebrating a birthday and didn't want to ruin the evening.

Went there for brunch and was not disappointed. Split 2 entrees and they were kind enough to plate them separately. The French toast was great. Crispy outside and moist inside. The syrup and butter combo was ridik. The crab cake was fresh and that biscuit was gigantic. It didn't look like a lot at first, but by the time you were done eating everything, I felt very full from just the crab bennies. They even started the meal with complimentary corn muffins and ended the meal with small cookies. Great treatment and will definitely be back.

Really good food and friendly service. Just a little too slow for my family. Took over an hour and half for our simple dinner. Salads were great and the Philly Cheesesteaks meat was great, but the bread was not good.

Enjoyed lunch here. The service was friendly and prompt. The wrong food was brought out the first time but was caught shortly by the staff. The burger I had was ok. I thought there would be more flavor from the description. It wasn't bad, but tasted like a regular burger. Overall, I had a good experience here and wouldn't mind trying something else next time.

Very friendly staff. Service was quick and accurate. The portabella sandwich was good. Came with cheese and pesto which was delicious. Nice selection of wines by the glass along with beers and cocktails. The interior is really nice and dark wood throughout.

Stopped here for a drink after Halloween Nights at Eastern State. When you enter you immediately notice the tall ceilings of the former firehouse. The building was originally built in the 1864 as the first paid fire department. It was then rebuilt in 1902 by the permanent architect of the Department of Public Health, Philip Johnson.

This is where it gets wild. The original owner of Jack's, Jack McDavid, is the reason that Eastern State is open for Halloween. He brought the press there to show them the facility and then wrote an $18,000 check to turn the lights on for the first Halloween. Incredible.

Back to the present day, we just went here for drinks and thankfully three spots opened at the bar. Our trio ordered a beer, wine and cocktail. My wife was worried the Southern Peach cocktail would be too sweet. The bartender asked midway through and when my wife informed him it was a tad sweet, he happily topped it off with unsweetened tea. Incredible service and an early happy birthday to that bartender!

We had a great experience here and will need to return for food. Will also need to try Down Home Diner, McDavid's first restaurant.
