I was in the area and didn't know the area and Googled near by cafés. I was excited to try a new place with great reviews. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with mushrooms, onions, cheese and jalapeños added. The bacon was cold, the cheese was forgotten and the medium oj was $5.50. I spent over $21. So disappointed. Still distancing !!??? They did offer to credit my card the cost of the cheese

Stopped here for a quick lunch with my hubby after a doctor appointment nearby. Not being familiar with the area, I checked yelp (of course!), and was drawn to Nutmeg Cafe by all the great reviews and the cute name!
The food and bakery options all looked amazing, organic, sustainable, with some great gluten free options. We just beat the lunch crowd...you order at the counter, then find a table. We had the Cobb wrap and the Capri sandwich, and shared a cup of the soup of the day - coconut curry.
Our food was brought out very fast! The Cobb wrap was superb - LOTS of thinly sliced turkey, super crisp bacon (my real test of any Cobb), egg, blue cheese, tomato, aoli, and just the right small amount of romaine - all wrapped in a lightly warmed/grilled spinach wrap. The soup was so amazingly flavorful - I can't wait to attempt a copycat recipe at home. While Carl enjoyed his Capri sandwich, it didn't look nearly as packed with ingredients as mine. The homemade chips were thick, crunchy and addictive.
We sat outside and although it was a hot day, the overhead and side shading made it quite comfortable. Service was great, both at ordering and delivering of food.
I would definitely return to Nutmeg...and next time, I'd save room for dessert and a special drink!

Creative and delicious! We would love to go back to try more menu items. We had the stuffed French toast and the pancakes. Both were delicious and very flavorful.

Adore the quiche and the zucchini muffin! Great portions and so delicious. The nutmeg scramble is good as well but it does not top the quiche. The zucchini muffin is moist and generous in portion. Coffee is great as well but I wish there were a refillable station of some sorts because hunting down hustling servers for coffee refills can be challenging especially during peak hours on the weekend.

The food is always excellent, the service is always friendly and fast. The weekends are typically pretty busy, so be patient and wait, its worth your time. The baked goods are so good, and the specials change often. This is our go-to on Sunday mornings after my son's soccer practice ! We love the small feel with big, healthy servings.

Always have good food here. For breakfast or brunch the coffee is yum and pastries tasty. They even have local merchants jewelry for sale here my fiancee likes to collect.

It was delicious! The restaurant is really cute, bright, and clean. The waitresses were quick and friendly. They were really busy and when I started eating it was obvious why! Thought and care were put into this food! While a little pricey, you will not regret this splurge!

Probably one of the coolest breakfast spots I’ve been to in a long time. Great staff, awesome job getting through the line quickly. Pretty good portion sizes. Fairly priced, especially for a place with so many vegan/gluten free options. See you all around!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place over in Scripps ranch. I had heard about it but never been. A girlfriend and I went on a Sunday morning around 10:30 and there was definitely a line. However, the line was deceiving because it moved very quickly! Not only was there seating indoors, but a big outdoor area that looked like it had been added during the pandemic.
Plenty of seating, fast service and great food! My friend had the chicken pesto panini and I had the scramble. We had already had coffee so we didn't order anything but there was a nice selection. The food came out quickly considering how many people had ordered in front of us so that was awesome. You can ask for jam, salsa, butter and hot sauce as well. I will be back ????

Nice place for breakfast and early brunch. Food is delicious. There is a nice outside sitting area. The menu has a wide variety of food that fits everyone like gluten-free options and vegan options. We like everything we have ordered here. My favorite was the hibiscus tea. I will be here agains.
