Wow! How have we not found this place sooner? Glad we have now and look forward to introducing the amazing flavors to other locals.
The Mexican Old Fashioned (mezcal) and hibiscus margarita were excellent and crafted meticulously by the 2 very nice bartenders.
The empanadas and the chicken mole enchiladas were exceptional!!!!! Best mole I've had.
Check this place out!!!! Keep up the great work!

Great Location and the decor is eye catching and festive!
Their tables are sticky somehow according to the buss boy its the "table". I think they need the right cleaning agent, its not a good first impression to sit at a sticky table.
Other than that, the service and the food exceeded my expectations!
We had the Enchiladas Oaxaceñas, Enchiladas Verdes and chicharon de ribeye. Each meal was savory and the most authentic I've had in the area.
I would definitely visit again!

NO FLAVOR, EXPENSIVE. SKEPTICAL ABOUT THE 5 STAR REVIEWS.

If you're looking for a delicious restaurant, please go elsewhere. I'm unsure if others posting 5 stars are being paid to say that, are friends of the restaurant or perhaps have long covid symptoms where their taste buds are distorted, but so many saying how amazing the food was- err, did we go to the same restaurant?

The restaurant I went to had good looking food, I'll give them that. It's great for pretty Instagram posts, but not if you want people to trust your opinion on good food.

Let's get down to the full details here:

The chips and salsa they give probably should've been the initial warning of things to come, because the tortilla chips lacked any salt and the salsa... it quite literally tasted like tomato mixed with water. I wish so badly that I was joking.

I ordered their tacos de puerco al pastor ($21.99) and instead got pork that was ALL turmeric-flavor and nothing else. Not little else, NOTHING else. It was orange and just pure turmeric. No salt. No other seasonings were being tasted. Just. Pure. Turmeric. I didn't even finish it, it was that bad. The side of beans were okay, I'll give them that! Though it was leaning on the bland side. I added salt, haha.

I also ordered their mango-flavored house margarita ($7.99) that oddly tasted nothing of mango, but rather like orange juice. I didn't even pick up a slight tequila flavor (or buzz for that matter!)

My boyfriend ordered their enchiladas suizas ($16.99) to which they asked if he wanted chicken, cheese or beef- he stated chicken (like it mentions in the menu) and instead of getting what was claimed: shredded chicken, he got weird chunks of bland, grilled chicken. So weird.

UNDERNEATH the slimey-tortilla-wrapped bland chicken was this odd smear of what we assume was the black beans mentioned in the menu description- which you can likely imagine how well those flavors mixed. The rice he got alongside that was- you guessed it, bland.

During this, the waitress never refilled our waters, only asked if I wanted another margarita (which for obvious reasoning, I didn't, lol.)

It seems like the food was bland as all hell or else shot to death with turmeric and unfortunately no inbetween. What was even worse is it ended up being over $60 for such terrible meals.

This is why I seriously question those who have left sparkling reviews. Did we get different cooks? Someone even had the audacity to call it "gourmet", another saying it was "the best suizas they ever had", LOL WHAT?

I've had gourmet food- this ain't it. Judging by some of the lower reviews, they all seem to carry my same viewpoint of terrible food that simply looks pretty. You have to question when there's 5 stars claiming supreme flavor and 1-2 stars saying zero flavor. Maybe we did get a different chef and so did those people. I don't think that however should excuse the level of atrocity this was.

All I know is I'll never come back to find out.

San Antonio is FILLED with amaaaazing food (and cheaper), go try one of those, you'll thank me later! Price doesn't always equal quality, remember that. ????

(Edited to add: I forgot to mention, when they gave my boyfriend the grilled chicken, they charged him extra! He only found out on the bill!)

I just enjoyed the BEST meal I've had in a very long time! I had the Creamy Poblano soup followed by Pollo la Poblana and thoroughly enjoyed both! The portions are perfect as was the presentation and I can't say enough about the service! We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Sergio, our server is such a professional and its obvious he loves his job. I experienced five star service and a five star meal! I will make sure I come back anytime I'm in San Antonio!

We are from out of town and tried this restaurant for the first time. Everything was delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the fish as well (huachinago), the shrimp also was good and the mole according to my husband could have had more flavor but when I tasted it it was pretty good to me. He felt it was a little watered down. We also had Jamaica, lemonade and pepino frescas were sooo good and not too sweet. The quality was great! Service was amazing. I would just recommend a little more kick to the dishes.

Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. Despite the other positive reviews, our time here was met with slow and poor service, a dirty patio littered with trash and messy tables that sat unclean, and an unimpressive appetizer. The food may look pretty, but it’s apparent this place only cares about creating “Instagram bait” food that doesn’t taste nearly as good as it may look.We came for the agua chile de rib-eye and it was disappointing. The spiciest and most unnecessary peppers were tossed on the plate, not even fully chopped through. Huge chunks of blazing green peppers that served no purpose for the dish. Sloppily chopped onions went from slivers to entire whole raw chunks. The “special sauce” lacked flavor though you could definitely taste the saltiness. Our server was inattentive. It was not a busy day and yet our food took a very long time, though we only ordered the appetizer. Our server did not greet us for over ten minutes and our waters stayed empty once we finished them. We were never offered a water refill, additional cocktails, nor did anyone check on us to ensure we’d enjoyed the food once we received it. And we did not enjoy it. We do not plan to ever come back. The prices certainly do not match the quality and it’s a shame they’re selling “upscale” with such a poor overall performance. I would give zero stars if I could.

Los Azulejos, they've got the Mole. Solid service coupled with outstanding cuisine makes Azulejos a 'go to' destination for high quality Mexican dishes. Their Mole had been on my radar for quite awhile. After comparing notes with several other 'food enthusiasts' I decided to take the plunge and didn't regret it. Their Mole is pack full of smokey flavor and paired perfectly with the hand grilled chicken. We tried both the Mole main as well as the enchiladas...both were amazing. The Mole dish came out with a smoking pedule twig and added to the ambiance. The hand made guacamole was a spot hit and easily feeds 4. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Post Valentine’s Day dinner, the ambience, the music playing throughout the restaurant and delicious food enticed us to go back for Sunday brunch. Again the food prepared by the Chef and exceptional service (Ana) was outstanding it almost seemed like we were having a personalized and exclusive brunch while on vacation.

The food is amazing! The flavors are exquisite! Not your typical Mexican food joint. They change the menu every now and then so every time we go we try something new. The presentation of the food is definitely picture worthy. And I can’t forget the servers. Helpful, friendly, and accommodating to customer’s dietary needs. They’re all amazing but I have to give a special shout out to David. My fiancé and I have had him as a server many times and he always makes us feel welcomed.
