I had not been here in several years but was on this side of town and wanted to see if they were as good as I remember. Hickory Barn did not let me down, chopped beef sandwich was the perfect blend of lean and moist, okra was not too crunchy and the links had just the right amount of flavor. Great choice when you are on the SW side!

Super expensive. Bought a tiny sandwich (some chopped beef on a hamburger bun) and a small coke and it cost almost $13. Sandwich was Ok. Nothing great about it.

It taste just how it looks! Nasty is an understatement. I asked for the smoked Turkey plate and this Turkey is boiled. Wth? The bbq sauce is hella watery. Mac and cheese taste powdery and green beans need more seasoning. I spent $13 on this plate and can’t even eat it. I’m mad as hell!

OmG!!! Super Awesome Brisket! The food was incredible! The Ribs are the best I've ever eaten. The cashier a gentleman with super sweet customer service skills was extremely knowledgeable about the menu! He was awesome!

Wonderful small family owned BBQ casual restaurant. Inexpensive wth quality food. Staff is friendly and efficient. Been eating here for over 25 years now. Cafeteria style: walk in, get your tray, and they cut your meat in front of you and then plate it, pick your sides, drinks, pay, then sit down. They serve homemade french fries, a large basket filled, (ask for them extra crispy), fried once you order them. From delicious smoked brisket, ribs, links, turkey, and chef salads, everything is very good. Nice selection of desserts and they have seasonal soups and chili. They will smoke your meats for you, charged by the pound. Order your holiday pies and dinners early for pickup.

The three meat plate was good but not better than average. We got and shared the brisket which was tender with some flavor but served at room temperature ( this was an issue with everything but the freshly fried fried okra). The sausage was good but not warm, the ribs were tasty but not warm. The fried okra was hot and tasty, the cole slaw was fresh but a little sweeter than I like. I know 'Q places have stuff under heat lamps and if it stays there any length of time it gets dried out.....not an issue here 'cause none of the food was warm.

This place is just awful, an absolute disgrace to BBQ and I’d give a zero star if I could. They advertise Chappel Hill sausage and these clearly were not that brand, I eat their sausage quite frequently so I know the difference. Their brisket looks as it was cooked in a crockpot and all they did was pour liquid smoke in it and reheat the same piece of meat several day in a row. The chopped brisket on my potato tasted as if it were from a package. Everyone stay far away from this place

Got the Stuffed Baked Potato with Chopped Beef. Food was really good--savory meat and sauce and tasty potato. The container looked smaller than what I usually get at a takeout meal but it turned out there was a good-sized, delicious potato packed inside that package! Service was quick and courteous. Interior was warm and inviting. Really satisfied with this experience.
