We really like this place and have been coming to Lope, for a long time. This visit I had the Ruben's tortilla soup and 2 shredded chicken tacos. I think the tortilla soup is the best I have eaten and chicken tacos were very good. My wife had the Chili Rellano(not sure about the spelling) and it was delicious. We would come here more often if it wasn't for the traffic on US 59

Great place for classic Houston Tex-Mex. The Ocampo Combo is a Sugarland favorite.

We hadn’t been here since it opened. Tonight we had beef fajita burritos and beef fajitas for one. The fajitas were great - thick cut, hot-but not sizzling. The same for the burrito meat, however, the cheese on the burrito had a bitter taste (next time I’ll ask for queso on top). So I ate the inside, which was very good. The place was clean and restrooms were clean.
The restaurant was packed. We had to ask for napkins and utensils several times. The wait staff was cordial even in this demanding environment. The adult beverage was on par. I think we’ll be back soon.

The place has changed in the 15 years since I last went but the food is still the same. Excellent full of flavor and seasoned just right. The staff is all new and not as friendly as before, but as stated I've not been in 15 years.

THE BEST TEX MEX in Houston, and maybe further out I’m sure … it’s so good always FRESH produce.. real real tortillas .. very very attentive wait staff. Let it be 10 seconds and you look around they are there with refills and chip and sauce refill.. ???? Very reasonable prices for a good amount of food. Can’t beat the food or the prices nor the service. Thank you #LOPEZ

One of my childhood favorite spots that is consistent and delicious. You get great sized portions at a great price. There is also someone for every job, and so you never run out of drinks or salsa. Only reason I'm not giving a five star review is that the salsa is not the best out there.

We had an amazing experience at Lopez Mexican Restaurant! The service is first class, they did an excellent job of taking care of us. They got our orders out to us very fast, and we had a group of 12! I would definitely go back, and I recommend them for a large group! The only setback is that it can be very loud during the day, so it's not the place for an intimate, personal date during the day. But to me, it shows that they get a lot of business because of their service. The menu is very good, with authentic Mexican dishes and Tex-Mex as well. The prices are very reasonable, and there is adequate parking as well.

Good service, good food, very clean facilities, nice ambiance, easy parking.
The beef fajitas were thick and very juicy and tender. I highly recommend those.
The refried beans are really good.
The guacamole has chuncks of tomatoes in it and is creamy and thin, must have cream in it? I didn't really like it.
I do recommend this place for good Mexican food.

Lopez has been a family favorite for over 10 years. All of there food is delicious, fulfilling, hot, and super cheesy! They are a family owned business that has been around for many years. Their salsa and chips are great and their queso is good. All of their food options I have had thus far have been worth every bite. They recently opened a 2nd location by Regal off 99 over a year ago. The only flaw that came of that is their menu options became less and workers dispersed, but their service and food is still top notch!
