We ordered the escargot which is usually garlicky. We were disappointed with the lack of that taste, more Italian like seasoning. My husband ordered crab cakes that tasted fishy rather than a good crab taste. I had fish and chips. Very creative way to serve. It was good and nice take on French fries. I gave three stars because our server was attentive. I feel it is a bit over-priced.

When visiting NW Houston and looking for a different place to eat, we found Red Fish. That is an interesting restaurant that serves sushi and gumbo... Japanese Cajun Seafood restaurant?

The wife said the sushi was good. I enjoyed the gumbo, although that was the spiciest gumbo I have eaten in a long time. (Why so spicy?, that isn't necessary.) I wouldn't say it was the best gumbo, but I'm still thinking about it fondly a week later, so it was memorably good.

I love this restaurant, everything and everyone is great. Our current visit had us ordering fish and chips, sushi and a tempura shrimp cocktail. Highly recommend.

We (my daughter and I ) had a craving for some good sushi. I searched around and saw this place from their website. I decided to take the drive from where we live. We arrived about 4:55 p.m. It is not a fancy building. It looks worn but decent. The outside matches the inside. The building is not very big. Worn but decent. The decor on the inside is low lighting, dark wooden chairs and tables, nothing fancy. I took time to view the food but not the building before deciding to visit here. Being greeted by what I believe to be the owner was nice. We were seated by the bar and I noticed a sour smell. It smelled like sour fish would smell. We were going to get up to leave but decided to look at the website again to make sure we were at the right location. As I viewed the site a little more, I saw a comment from a previous customer that recommended to dine in the upstairs area, If the fish smell was to much. I asked the waitress if there was an upstairs area and she said "Yes, it opens at 5:00 pm." We requested to be seated upstairs since it was just after 5pm. She asked the owner if it was okay to seat us upstairs. The owner replied "Yes." He escorted us upstairs. When we arrived upstairs, we were impressed because the upstairs decor looked like a 5 star restaurant. There is a big difference from the bottom floor. It was exactly what we wanted for our dining experience. The tables were decorated with white table cloth, art was on the wall the featured interesting art of previous customers. The lighting in the upstairs was bright, perfect and welcoming. We ordered the Cajun Sushi and the Grilled Salmon. The sushi tasted fresh, delicious and it was as if it melted on my tongue. Now the salmon on the other hand was good but not great. It was to overcooked for my taste but good nonetheless. This place is known for its sushi being great and Great it is. I will return to try something different on the menu but for now this is best sushi I've had in years.

I have been eating here for quite a while and what I come for is the sushi. This is not your ordinary sushi (maki) but the Texas version of what sushi would be like it it was invented here. Super generous portions and always flavorful and sure to satisfy your pallet. There is a first and second floor and normally the second floor is open for lunch or weekend dinners. What I love the most is the consistent food creation (great food) and consistent service is A+ . Please give it a try, if you like seafood you found the right place. Only negative is it’s kinda dark for my old eyes but I can overlook that with the food and service.

This place has a fish camp vibe, casual, with a full bar. The snapper in the chef's spicy sauce was really tasty, and I absolutely loved the bacon wrapped asparagus. I could have eaten many of those for a meal! My companion got the blackened redfish. It was a little spicy and came with lump crab meat, and he was very happy with the dish. We did not order sushi but saw a bunch coming out of the kitchen and it looked excellent, quite large portions.

We stopped by Sunday after church for lunch and could not have been happier. Justin, the manager on duty was great. We had stuffed mushrooms as the appetizer. We split the salmon salad which was wonderful. And we had the bread pudding for dessert. My wife had been searching for a good bread pudding and we finally found one after 10 years. She had been chasing one that was as good as we had at Gaidos in Galveston.

Been wanting to try this place for 10 years and finally got around to it. Wish we had gone sooner! Will for sure be back with our whole family. Absolutely delicious. I had the gulf red snapper. Fish was as fresh as it could be, cooked perfectly and the sauce was full of flavor. My wife had the cioppino, also amazing! Staff was friendly and very attentive.

Very large menu with some interesting fish and sushi items. I felt the sushi was slightly over priced for the quality of the fish. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Interested to try some non sushi items if I come back.

I came here recommended by a friend and the food just came short to me. The sushi that was ordered(Shaggy dog and California roll) were visually tasty still ok though. but when it came to the actually flavor it was bland. The shrimp inside the shaggy dog was rough. Service was great! My waitress was really friendly and welcoming.

The food at Red Fish was amazing! The sushi not only had huge portions but the flavors also were really good. Presentation was really well done. The desserts (esp bread pudding) were awesome! I would highly recommend eating here!
