Service was fast. I got a plate to go and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Lots of food on the plate. Definitely gonna have leftovers. Brisket is tender and the BBQ sauce is excellent. Mac n cheese is to die for and greens are on point! The plate came with bread and pickles as well. Will definitely be going back!!

This place is superb. Food tastes great and portions are good. Very friendly staff and a short wait time to get your food. Easy in and easy out for to go orders also. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

This place is a bit of a drive for me - but I’m glad I made the drive!
Staff was extremely friendly. Clean and nice inside ✅
Most important - the BBQ was top notch.
I’ve rarely had great BBQ in the evening, it’s usually been kept warm since lunchtime. I was hesitant to try -- but everything I had was fresh @ 6:30 in the evening. A very nice surprise.
I’ve had a hard time finding good ribs lately - these were moist and flavorful with a great bark … really really good.
The brisket was great - again excellent bark and the seasoning was perfect - accentuated the brisket flavor without overwhelming. Very thick cuts the way I like it (a lot of places cut it thin so you get the impression it’s “falling apart tender”)
Lastly came the Cajun sausage - definitely home made with great smoke flavor and just the right amount of spice. The grind is very fine — I prefer a course grind - but the flavor more than made up for it.
Sides were excellent - don’t pass up the greens - great flavor and very tender without being mushy.
A great experience — I’ll be back.

There are the best of days, there are the worst of days. Some days are just “meh.” Today, the food is meh.
Only ordered a sandwich, so this won’t be long. The meat on its own was worth the drive over. Then buns they gave me were very inedible. I’d been better off trying to chew on a sopping wet bath towel.

We had originally planned on going to a BBQ spot closer to downtown but had run out of time. I am so happy that we did and we found Southern Q close to the airport. It is a down-home spot and appears to be family run. The food was excellent.

SouthernQ BBQ has the BEST moist beef brisket. Very good, marbled throughout.
Potato salad is very good.

I’ve been trying a lot of bbq spots in the area and was excited to try this place. Food was a bit pricey for the quality. The bbq ribs and brisket had great seasoning but was very dry/overcooked. The homemade Cajun sausage however was pretty good. Wanted to support black owned but it just wasn’t that good overall. Very disappointed

This was an amazing barbecue restaurant. I am visiting Houston from New York and just arrived this morning. Unique and delicious sauce, baked beans have a nice smoky flavor, ribs are amazing, so is the turkey and brisket. All very moist. fall off the bone ribs. The macaroni and cheese is amazing as well. Very friendly customer service oriented.

This hidden little gem is a delight! Drove past it one day...read some reviews...thought why not... OMG! I'm ready to slowly but surely try the entire menu! We tried the $18 two meat 2 side plate, it was a good sharing portion. Our order consisted of Rib tips, moist brisket, Cajun rice, potatoe salad and peach cobbler and it was every bit of heaven????
