The service is questionable. Very slow to acknowledge you but very quick to rush you when ordering. The food is regular at best but the bartender is friendly and the patio is a cool place to hang out on a pretty day!

Went for lunch with my husband. You walk in and order at the counter. Fountain drinks, bottled drinks and a bar at the back of the restaurant for beverages. Just an FYI, if you get a messy meal, there are wet naps, gloves and to-go boxes under the pick up order sign, behind the cashier.
The food was pricey but good and a lot of grilled options. The cashier was super friendly but everyone else was hit amd miss with service and friendliness.
Plenty of hot sauces and napkins on the tables. Clean tables and bathrooms. There is a nice patio as well.
We ordered the guacamole and chips. The guacamole portion was large and served in a cold molcajete., it stayed nice amd cold. There weren't enough chips for the guacamole though. The oysters were perfect.
We would go back

Great meetup with one of my Realtor Friends, Patti Allen for lunch at Fish N Tails in Rowlett. Had lunch at this awesome seafood restaurant that just opened. Met one of the owners really nice guy. Will definitely be back.

If your wanting seafood or cajun food please do yourself a favor and dont eat here. Let me start off by saying I love seafood and I have eaten seafood and cajun food at hundreds of restaurants. My wife and I decided to try this place since it is close to us and we have never eaten here before. Big mistake. I asked the lady at the front what specials they had. She told me Po' Boys and told me what types they had. One of them was a fried oyster po' boy. She told me it is loaded with friend oysters. It sounded great so I ordered it. When it came out I was shocked. It only came with four small oysters and the sandwich was mostly bread. I asked her about it and she said yes they only come with four oysters ????♂️ I refused it and asked for the catfish filet po' boy to replace it since she said it came with a large filet. When it showed up at the table again it was just as bad as the first. The filet was small and the sandwich was mostly bread. I decided to go ahead and eat it since this was the second sandwich. The fish was a little rubbery and had zero flavor. It was almost like eating thick jello without flavor. I had to add lots of salt and pepper just to have any seasoning. I decided to eat the red beans and rice that came with my sandwich. They were not to bad, a little to much salty for my tastes, but edible. My wife had the chicken po' boy and hers didnt have any flavor and the chicken breast that was on the sandwich was maybe a quarter inch thick at most. I have never seen such a small chicken breast. She also had the onion rings as a side and again they didnt have any seasoning. The best part of the entire meal were the crackers. Please do yourself a favor and just skip this restaurant. Keep driving to some other place. Needless to say we will not be back to eat at this restaurant ever again. It was a total waste of time and money ☹

People are very friendly. I would not call their sandwiches a Po' Boy. Po' Boys usually have a lot more meat in it. Chips are hard but good, salsa is spicy but good. Really good Red beans and rice. Onion rings need flavor. All their food lacks flavor. Use spices and herbs please!

Dined in for lunch on a Thursday and it was not too crowded. There was nobody as we entered to tell us the process, which we learned that you order at the front, get a number and take a seat. We ordered the lunch grilled catfish and the clam chowder with a salad. The salad had so much onion on it, should have asked for no onions and oddly, parmesan cheese sprinkled on it. The clam chowder was pretty tasty and the grilled catfish was a good portion with 2 filets. The attitude of the workers was not very Customer centric and almost careless. On top of that, the young girls and guys were too busy flirting with eachother. Would have to try this place out again to see if it gets better.

Update Jan 23, 2022 another great visit here! NFL Playoffs on the bigscreen in the Event Room! It went into Overtime, with Chiefs winning!
I had Red Beans & Rice, and the very spicy Shrimp a la Diabla plate. The Event Room has 8 tables for 4, and great view of the screen.
========================
UPDATE Dec 9, 2021 had the Grilled Salmon Salad $14.95, and it was fantastic. Really big filet of Salmon, very fresh lettuce, cucumber, tomato slices, purple onion, dressing on the side, in a deep bowl.
** Happy Hour 3-6PM Mon-Fri !!

Update Dec 5, 2021 finally made it inside here, shared a table with a friendly stranger. Line of people making their food orders at the counter never stopped.
Fish N Tails Rowlett, TX is an instant hit, and will do great.
I ordered Shrimp a la Diabla (spicy) the 8 shrimps are on top of rice & steamed broccoli, carrots, & zucchini slices.
The shrimp & sauce were spicy, the veggies & rice were lightly seasoned. This was very good, if you like red chili heat! Cold beer will help.
A lot of families here on a Sunday, mellow rock music overhead, NFL games on big screens all around. Patio has shade or sun, take your pick.
Staff is warm & welcoming.
Tip: Let the food runners know your number & where you will be sitting. Let your order number show to the kitchen exit. The runners were doing a few U-turns today.

Grand Opening Saturday Dec 4, and so many people came! I can't get a seat, try tomorrow. Congratulations Fish N Tails!

Our family tried the place out as my husband loves the food at other locations close to his work. He noticed the menu here looked more extensive. We ordered the green aguachile as an appetizer, I had the shrimp tacos, he ordered a fish and shrimp basket and small cup of gumbo. For the kids we ordered a chicken tender basket and a catfish basket. It looked busy so I thought it would take a while but all the food came out fast and it was all great tasting. Kids pretty much finished their food, only a few fries left on the plate. Staff was very attentive and constantly walking through, clearing plates and checking to make sure everything was great. We will definitely be back. Great all around!
